✨ Fueling Success Together: Team Member Monday! ✨

Today, we're shining the spotlight on Bobby Lewis, our Campus Life Administrator!

What part of our mission do you connect with?
I take great pleasure in offering our residents opportunities for personal growth. Our residents can independently earn everything they need here. Our monthly PBIS events provide our children with incredible experiences, from the Renaissance Festival and Jurassic Quest to live-action theaters and thrilling Pirate Treasure Hunts. Exciting adventures are always on the horizon for them.

What is a unique or your favorite part about working here?
My favorite part of working at Davis Stuart is working with the kids. They're why we're here. I love being able to offer an outlet for the residents that are really pushing themselves to succeed.

Is there anything you would like to share with someone who is thinking about working at Davis Stuart?
I tell everyone that Davis Stuart is an awesome place to work. It's not always easy, but it is exceptionally rewarding to see our kids succeed.

What is your favorite quote or motto?
Tim would say my motto is "Everything's going to be fine.", but personally I like to remember the quote:
“Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.” —John C. Maxwell

Thank you Bobby! We are so lucky to have you on our team!

WVCCA also mourns with the community our loss of the Honorable Judge Joanna Tabit. Her service and dedication to WV youth has impacted thousands of WV families. We honor her memory and her life of service.

Kanawha County Commission Mourns the Loss of the Honorable Judge Joanna Tabit

Charleston, WV – The Kanawha County Commission mourns the loss of Circuit Court Judge Joanna Tabit, who passed away today, September 29th, 2023.

Judge Tabit was appointed to the Kanawha County Circuit Court in 2014 replacing retired Judge Paul Zakaib. She was then elected to a full term in 2016. Judge Tabit served as a mentor for countless young lawyers and professionals throughout her career.

She was a member of several professional legal groups including the West Virginia State Bar Board of Governors and the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar. She was a board member of the Kanawha County Public Defender’s Office, the co-chair for the Campaign for Legal Aid, chairperson of the Access to Justice Foundation and District 8 Character Committee of the West Virginia Board of Law Examiners. She was an officer of the Kanawha County Bar Association.

She also served on the board of directors for several nonprofit organizations including the YWCA, Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center and Daymark, Inc.

Judge Tabit was an excellent member of her community. She was committed to public service. Her experience, integrity and character spoke for itself. She was a great leader and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.

The Kanawha County Commission will lower the WV State Flag to half staff immediately, and black drapes will hang at the Kanawha County Judicial Building.
