Did you know that "cacciatore" roughly translates to "hunter" in Italian? Traditionally, this dish was made by hunters or their wives after a hunt. It typically featured hunted and gathered ingredients such as rabbit or quail, along with foraged mushrooms and homegrown vegetables like tomatoes and garlic.

Here at Cicchetti, Chef Alex’s signature half Chicken Cacciatore is a fan favorite. Made with tomatoes, olives, capers, and cremini mushrooms, it rests on a creamy bed of mascarpone polenta. While he may not have hunted the chicken himself, he has certainly cooked it to perfection.
