In this show, Genevieve explores new horizons using her pyrography combined with digital techniques to allow her creativity to extend beyond the burn. Though she started her artistic journey applying pyrography to leather items, namely journals and bookmarks, she is ramping up production and taking her work to the next level. Her print items now include framed and matted prints, decks of playing cards, and sweet baby onesies! Her business partner (and brother-in-law) Peter Yencken is also busy creating functional items to which she can apply her designs, including knives with leather sheaths, wood coasters, leather & wood jar handles, and his new beautifully woven wood market baskets.

This evening till 7pm, stop by and meet, Genevieve, our pyrography artist. She has some beautiful wildlife art on leather and more.
Derek Brown's work ranges from lighthearted fun characters to sometimes cynical humor in his moody cartoon figures and offbeat animals, everything is fair game. His original sculptures are conversation starters and at times simply there to promote a much-needed smile, either way his talent for entertaining audiences is very popular. Derek’s work offers us a break from our usual reality, an escape from our daily life, and encouragement to keep on living despite the challenges that surround us.
Looking for a lift? Come see the show running through the end of September and take a little piece of humor home with you.
Strange Clay Creations owner and founder, Derek Brown, took up forming figurines as an afterwork outlet to lift his spirits, something comedic and fun to offset the grind of his day job. The activity grew momentum when he saw the reactions folks had to his work, they laughed and smiled as a result of his joy playing with clay. His humor and imagination have become very therapeutic as he explores new ways of expressing our human condition. Quirky and endearing characters are hand made with polymer clay, baked and hand painted with attention to details and sure to elicit a smile.
Come see the show "The Art of Humor" during September!
Derek is our Strange Clay Creations artist and our featured artist for September. Come find out how fun his art is.
With a love for the tactile experience of working with clay, Laura Vik enjoys creating pieces that connect with people beyond its pure function. Inspired by the challenge of depicting ‘time’ she explores the concept by using different surface treatments, one-of-kind glazes, and her results are impressive. From weathered fabric imprints to the illusion of worn and torn material sewn together, Laura’s work has grace and a peaceful wisdom, qualities that result from her genuine curiosity about clay and her creative journey exploring the textures of time.
Come see the show "The Textures of Time" during August.
Laura Vik has been working with clay for the past 16 years growing her interest from hobby to a more serious, prominent place in life and how she spends her time. In this show, she focused on different ways to represent the concept of time. Combining her skills on the wheel with her hand-built techniques using stoneware clay, Laura has developed a unique style, portraying each piece with a history, telling a story of its own. This body of work has warmth and a comforting charm that will enhance the spirit of any home.
