What does the Salvation Army do with the thousands of dollars they raise in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas? You need to know that they are "Doing The Most Good" with money raised by their Red Kettle Bell Ringers from Thanksgiving to Christmas. They are definitely living up to their motto.
After networking with the Salvation Army by driving a van to take and pick up Red Kettle Bell Ringer, I know of no other organization that comes close to their areas of assistance.
They provide: Emergency Food Boxes, Help with utilities if one has a past due notice, Emergency Medication Payments, Disaster Relief including House Fires, Case Management, Christmas Angel Tree for Children & Seniors, Residential Summer Camp for ages 7 to 12, Life-Skill and GED Classes, Bible Study Groups, and Volunteer & Internship Opportunities.
If you know someone that needs help or if you need assistance, call the Chattanooga Area Command Center on McCallie Ave. for more information 423-756-1023.
Requirements for services are: Photo ID, Proof of all household income, Check stubs, SSI letter, child support order statement, Families First letter, or Food Stamp letter.
For Utility Assistance one must schedule an appointment. And Bring past due utility bill and disconnect notice.
For Furniture Assistance call and make an appointment, show proof of residence and bring documentation of homelessness, disaster, house fire, or domestic violence incident and bring your rental agreement.
For Emergency Food Assistance Availability call S.A. Command Center on McCallie Ave.
After networking with the Salvation Army for seven years to resettle the homeless in North Dakota, I can say without a doubt, that the Salvation Army is worthy of your support. God bless all those who make the Salvation Army - Great.

"OUR VISION OF MINISTRY" -Pastor Barry Lee

We at the Oakwood COGOP envision a ministry that brings souls to Salvation and provides: food, shelter, clothing, assist with individual needs and circumstances, and offers recovery services including case management, court assistance, counseling, addiction treatment, crisis intervention, and job training. All services are at no charge. As Pastor I believe that God wants us to minister to the needs of our community and we are praying to God for the resources to do so. We are asking anyone who has or has had addiction problems in their family for assistance to make an eternal difference in peoples lives though our NEW LIVING FREE REHAB MINISTRY. Join us and let's make a difference together during this present Pandemic of Covid-19.

PRAISE THE LORD FOR ALL THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN DONE ON OUR OAKWOOD CHURCH.
These last few weeks have given us the time to have repair work done on our Oakwood Church. We have had the roof and top windows repaired so they don't leak any more. We had Paul Paller, LaRossa Construction to replace and repair the top structure of the Sanctuary. They also repaired the south east corner of our building last week. The stucco was turning loose and dropping off from the face of the Church. Five thousand dollars was spent on the structural repair of the roof and one thousand five hundred dollars to replace and repair the stucco corner by the front crosses. We have other projects that need repair like: Replacing awnings on the Gym, Installation of new video projectors which were bought first of 2020, Replace Heat and Air unit in Nursery. Then we need to fix the water problems flooding the front of the sanctuary when it storms or rains hard. Also their is painting to be done in the Sanctuary in the near future and the front glass doors need attention. Then we still have windows that need to be replaced in the Gym. A lot has been done to maintain our property in the past 16 months and I believe that God will help us get His House in tip top shape in the future. Keep seeking God for his favor and blessings. Pray that the Lord will release the finances to do all these projects Not being able to gather due to this Covid-19 Pandemic has resulted in minimum contributions. We are praying for the lord to release the finances we need to make our $2,600.00 monthly mortgage payment to the bank and other operational expenses. Our membership increased by 36 new members in 2019. In 2020 our membership has increased by 8 in the first 4 months. If God speaks to your heart to give just make your gift out to the Oakwood Church of God of Prophecy. Mail your contribution, offering or tithes to: Treasurer Don Dean, 1907 Rock Bluff Rdl, Hixson, TN 37343
