Introducing the Hope Rice Bowl 🍍✨

In 2016, my friend Tim Luu and I moved to Chicago with a dream—to open a restaurant and build a future together. We’ve shared countless challenges and triumphs along the way, growing our restaurant day by day.

Now, as Tim’s family faces a new challenge, it’s our turn to support them in their fight against cancer. His mom recently was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer that without treatment she would’ve only had two months to live. Chemotherapy has been successful but not enough. Recently she had a transplant and is now on a long road to recovery and the long journey has put a strain on their finances.

To help, we’re launching the 'Hope Rice Bowl,' a dish that symbolizes strength and resilience, priced at $13.99. From 09/04 to 09/11, 25% of every Hope Rice Bowl sold will be donated to support Tim’s family as they continue their journey in fighting leukemia. We are going to host a series of Lunar New Year in Chicago events in the 2d restaurant showcasing a variety of traditions and delicacy from all parts of Asia!

Tentatively, we will have two dumping 水餃 making, and spring scroll 春聯 calligraphy workshops and looking to have even more at 2d!
