Photo 1 - Every year I, and a LOT of other boaters, get to sail under the bridge that the Blues Brothers famously jumped over in the classic 1980s film, The Blues Brothers. This is the 95th Street Bridge and it spans the Calumet River on the south side of Chicago. On the left edge of the bridge is the old rusted brown salt hopper clearly visible in the movie during the jump. And further to the left at the very edge of the photo is the back of Calumet Fisheries which can also be seen in the during the bridge jump. Photo taken on board DRUID.

Our first charter of 2020 was awesome! Per request of our special guest we sailed straight out into the lake as far as time would allow. This was a an extended charter, so we were able to sail pretty far out before having to turn back. These are my favorite types of charters.... Just keep sailing on! Progress!! Not quite there yet, but at least Druid and Bernard are in the water!! The City of Chicago calls this step "staging". We were allowed to bring the boats to a temporary harbor until the Chicago harbors open for real. But, once the boats arrive at their temporary harbor, they are not allowed to leave again until the harbors are really open. That's ok though, because we had a lot of fun sailing them there! 😉
