Today kicks off our celebratory posts for the Class of 2024! A Namaste tradition that takes place the week of graduation is walking through the hallways one last time to Disney’s “We’re All In This Together.” Each day a group of 8th Graders will be highlighted along with the lyrics. Show the Class of 2024 some love by liking their posts!

Thank you, , for a wonderful free family cooking class this morning! Common Threads offers these courses to help both kids and families lead healthier lives by increasing their knowledge around nutrition. We enjoyed our delicious yogurt protein bowls!

Felicidades to our 3rd-Grade Dual Language Teacher, Karen Vargas, for being one of just thirty educators in the state of Illinois to be named a finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching! 🎉 What a tremendous honor!

Ms. Vargas is an outstanding educator, expert in dual language instruction, and thoughtful contributor to our school community. She works hard to cultivate a caring classroom community where students feel empowered as learners. She is loved by students, colleagues, and parents alike and is so deserving of this prestigious award.

We are so proud of Ms. Vargas for this tremendous accomplishment! Thank you, , for recognizing her and other teachers who give so much of themselves to their students. 🍎

Our inaugural Holiday Market was a success! Thank you to all of our vendors who participated and families who attended. We had a wonderful time! 🎁 ❄️☃️

Gracias a todas las familias que vinieron para celebrar el Dia de los Mu***os con nosotros hoy! And a special thanks to the Bilingual Advisory Council (BAC) parents for helping to organize and volunteer! We enjoyed delicious food, listened to stories, and decorated sugar skulls in community.

Thank you to all of the families who joined us last week at the board meeting! Ms. Delgado and Ms. Ramirez eloquently spoke in front of the Board to share about the important work Namaste does each day, and what the school means to them and to their community. We’re thankful to all of our parent supporters as we prepare for charter renewal!

We will be organizing another parent bus on January 25th, so mark your calendars!

Our middle schoolers had a great time on their field trip to the apple orchard this week! They learned about pollination, plant life cycles, and the importance of bees to our ecosystem. The delicious apples were an added bonus! 🍎

Thank you to all of the families and representatives who joined us at Namaste’s High School Fair today. There are so many great options! It was fun, too, to see the faces of some former Flames! 🔥

Today was a big day for Namaste! It was Big Apple Crunch Day, an annual celebration of fresh, local apples on the second Thursday of October during National Farm to School Month.

AND it was announced that Namaste was being recognized as one of ‘s healthiest schools in the nation!! We received special distinction in the areas of Family & Community Engagement, Strengthening Social-Emotional Health & Learning, Improving Nutrition & Food Access, and Bolstering Physical Education & Activity (plus four others!). We are honored!

Special thanks also to , a non-profit urban farm for donating today’s delicious apples!🍎🍏🍎🍏

Celebrating International Peace Day is a longstanding tradition at Namaste.  This morning, students, staff, and parents held a moment of silence to bring Peace to Chicago and the world.  At Namaste, everyday is Peace Day-- today is just when we celebrate it with the world community.  How will you bring Peace to your day?
