Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of all the workers contributing to our success. It's a day to recognize and honor their invaluable contributions.
We recently held the Rockford Welcome Mixer at Prairie Street Brewing along the Rock River. In attendance were incoming P1s, current students, preceptors, alumni, faculty, staff, & other friends of the College.
Over the past month, student pharmacists and faculty from the Rockford campus provided over 400 blood pressure screenings at local fairs in Stephenson, Boone, and Winnebago counties. Just another way that is serving the community!

New student pharmacists and peer advisors at the Rockford Campus volunteered for the annual Day of Service. The group cleaned wild spaces with Natural Land Institute and ended the day with lunch at the Nicholas Conservatory. Just another way is serving the community!

Student pharmacist Asia Banks was selected for the Scientist Mentoring and Diversity Program (SMDP). The program pairs biopharmaceutical industry mentors with diverse students nationwide in PhD and PharmD programs. Congratulations, Asia!
Join us for the annual Garden Walk and Farnsworth Lecture on August 2nd. The walk will be held from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Atkins Medicinal Plant Garden. Drs. Shura Mankin, Nora Vázquez-Laslop, and Yury Polikanov were interviewed by the Chicago Sun-Times about a new drug they developed to make drug resistance nearly impossible. The Fellowship is a year-long service-learning program where Fellows design and implement projects to address the needs of underserved Chicago communities. Abdallah is partnering with the To***co Treatment Center at UI Health to create a telehealth initiative.
