This week, we’d like to give a special shout out for the Early Childhood Center. This school is part of the Huntley Community School, in District 158. Their school principal, Dr. Sheryl Pauwels, is dedicated to improving the school staff’s morale. This is evident through the countless of activities organized for the school staff. The monthly treat carts, spirit days, and unique rubber duck surprises create a fun atmosphere that gives school staff the chance to enjoy the day, and the opportunity to be recognized.
We appreciate the dedication to providing the school the chance for all school staff to be recognized, and hope others can follow their footsteps!

Happy Staff Appreciation week! This week, we’d like to highlight a member of one of our committees. Meet an incredible volunteer at the R.O.S.E. Foundation, Kalia! She is part of our Marketing committee, helping us create content and upkeep our website.
As a college student, she knows staff morale is important because if there are professors or staff members that are overworked and underappreciated, the student can tell and most of the time it affects the students adversely. Because of this, she loves using her creativity to brainstorm ways staff members can feel appreciated.

We’re saying goodbye to April and getting ready to start May off with this month’s blog post. We’d like to recognize the Early Childhood Center in Huntley Community School District 158.
They implemented a wide variety of ideas in order to help boost their school’s morale, including monthly spirit days, rubber ducky prizes, and themed treat carts. This week, we want to take a moment to shout out to the school, Academy of the Americas, located in Detroit, Michigan.
Their school is dedicated to ensuring the staff members feel valued and appreciated through recognizing their staff in a variety of ways: Friday coffees, weekly notes, treat bags, and their own R.O.A.R. (Reliable, Outstanding, Adaptable, Resourceful) shout out certificates. We love to see schools implementing programs to help boost school morale, and have given a mini grant as well, in order to help support their cause. Great job & thank you for recognizing the importance of recognition programs for school staff, Academy of the Americas.
If your school or district is interested in starting or continuing your recognition program, and would like to apply for our mini grants available, reach out and contact us today!
Happy April, everybody! Our blog kicks off the month by recognizing the Academy of the Americas, located in Detroit, Michigan. They were one of our mini-grant recipients, and they did a phenomenal job in finding low-cost ways to recognize and help boost the morale of the staff members. The school’s dedication to finding creative ways to show their staff member their appreciation is exactly what we look in our recipients.

Happy Tuesday, everybody! This week, we highlight the last (but not least) committees at the R.O.S.E. Foundation: the Nomination Committee.
This team helps us create the guidelines and application for the grants we distribute to schools. The members assist by reviewing the applications, working closely with the school members to help survey and measure the success of their recognition program, and overall being the main point for contact for the applicants!
We’re hoping to grow our team, and increase our outreach and efforts—and we’d love to see more committee members joining to help us with our mission.

We are always grateful for our committee members who volunteer their time at the R.O.S.E. Foundation. Their assistance is invaluable and help us grow our organization and initiatives, and we are starting a series to highlight our amazing volunteers. With that being said, we want to start off by showcasing a volunteer from our Nomination committee.
Meet Krista! She is an educator who has taught 6-8 grades in science, social studies, reading, math, and technology education. One of the biggest achievements in her career was her ability to help pilot the 1-1 iPad initiative for her district back in 2011-2012. Now, the entire middle school is a 1-1 device building.
Lastly, we also want to give a shout out to Krista for her belated birthday!

This week, we touch upon a crucial aspect of recognition programs—making sure that they’re manageable!
What do we mean we talk about a program’s sustainability? This is the ability for a recognition program to be effective and last throughout the years. It can be difficult to maintain a program if it’s too difficult, or the process in recognition is too complex. As a result, this creates a barrier to entry, preventing staff members from participating.
Instead, we recommend that recognition programs aim to simplify their method, increase the frequency in showing recognition, and always surveying the staff for feedback. By doing so, the recognition program will be easier for everybody to not only improve the recognition program, but for people to also participate and be able to recognize others more readily.
R.O.S.E. Foundation is always looking for volunteers to join and support us through our committees. One of our committees, is the Fundraising Committee!
Here, volunteers participate in monthly, hour long meetings where they help tackle ways to raise funds and find sponsors for our organization. They are crucial to helping us raise money to create the grants that can be gifted to schools to help them sustain their own recognition program.

Happy Tuesday, all! Our blog post is up, and this month, we talk about ways to differentiate the recognition program to make it personalized for the staff members. Recognition comes in all shapes and sizes, and each individual will have a preference in way the wish to be recognized!
We recommend creating a community to survey the staff’s various preferences and curating the recognition program to fit the team.

The only responsibility is the committees’ hour long, virtual monthly meetings. This is where we make plans to grow and develop the foundation, and bounce ideas off other volunteers.

Happy Tuesday everybody! This month’s January blog post is up. We talk about creative ways staff members can be recognized, because recognition programs do not require a ton of money.
More importantly, the recognition and rewards given can make a big difference in improving the staff morale.

Happy holidays everybody! ROSE Foundation is ready to kick off 2024 by highlighting our three main focuses when you think about what recognition programs need to do: they need to emphasize value, appreciation, and recognition.
While they’re similar concepts, they’re actually very different! Value is to show (whether it’s tangible or intangible) that somebody is important and their work matters, while appreciation is about giving that positive, consistent feedback. Recognition, on the other hand, rewards the deserved performance/achievement. Understanding these subtle differences can help create a more nuanced and successful recognition program and ultimately, build the morale of any team!

Learn a bit more about us and our mission statement!
Here at R.O.S.E Foundation, we hope to empower schools and give them the opportunity to craft an inclusive recognition program by providing a grant to get the program started. Schools need to create a warm environment where the staff have the positive morale and motivation needed; in order to do so, we know one of the most effective ways is to help schools create their recognition program.
Interested in helping us turn our hopes into reality? Contact us and volunteer through a committee today!
Our December blog post is up! In our previous blogs, we’ve discussed value and appreciation so far. This month, we focus on our third value, recognition! This occurrence can happen through acknowledgement, praises, or receiving an award.
All together, the trifecta of being valued, appreciated, and recognized are the most crucial ingredients to creating a sustainable recognition program—therefore, helping schools boost staff morale, and create an overall more positive environment and culture.
For more information, check out and read the last blog post linked in our bio: https://www.rosefoundationawards.org/post/december-blog-recognition
We are currently working hard, gathering the funds to create the first grant for our future recipients of the R.O.S.E. Foundation awards! This grant will enable schools to create a recognition program that will support all school staff. In turn, the recognition, appreciation, and value shown will help schools improve the culture and ultimately, the moral.

Happy November everybody!
This month is all about being thankful, and showing gratitude. While November is the month of giving, to highlight non-profit organizations (like ours), it is also about how we show our own gratitude!
Although we are very new and are only starting our journey, we want to express our thank you for all our supporters who have been so generous with their time, donations, and interest. R.O.S.E. Foundation wouldn’t be where it is today without our board members, our volunteers and committees, and supporters/followers who care about what we have to say. We appreciate the support greatly.
