Meet Stacy, a true embodiment of resilience and hope. Growing up in Huruma, one of the most vulnerable areas in Kenya, she faced endless challenges. After finishing high school, her dreams seemed out of reach due to financial struggles. But Stacy’s story didn't end there. Through Global FICCS, Stacy has found a new path—a chance to pursue her passion for animals at a two-year veterinary school, fully sponsored by our organization.

Stacy’s journey is a testament to the power of believing in yourself and having a support system that educates, elevates, and empowers. Her love for animals and unwavering determination remind us why we do what we do. We are beyond proud to walk this journey with her and witness her transformation. Stacy, you inspire us every day, and we can’t wait to see all you will achieve. This is what it means when our mission comes to life. 🌟

The most inspiring thing we do at Global FICCS is seeing the change we make in communities through our training. We spent a heartwarming day in Mathare, driven by our 3E mission: Educate, Elevate, and Empower. The smiles of the children were our greatest reward as we handed out sanitary towels to the girls, ensuring they never have to miss school because of their periods, and tissues to the boys, offering them a small but essential comfort.

But our mission didn’t stop there. We trained them on CPR and first aid, equipping these bright young minds with life-saving skills. Together, we’re not just giving supplies; we’re fostering a future filled with hope, dignity, and opportunity.

They saw her passion and potential, and she became part of their program.

Angela completed her nursing diploma in 2016 and has been a registered nurse ever since, working tirelessly at the Loita Hills Community Clinic. Our recent journey to Magadi, Kenya, was more than just a trip—it was a profound experience that has etched itself into our souls.

We at FICCS are fiercely dedicated to the education, empowerment, and elevation of young women in our community. This commitment took us to the sun-kissed lands of Magadi, where we sponsored 21 bright young scholars. Their unwavering determination and the light of hope in their eyes inspire us every day. We proudly cover their tuition, ensuring they have the chance to chase their dreams and break the cycle of early marriage.

Our visit was filled with moments of deep connection and joy. We donated essential medicine to the local dispensary, a gesture that means the world in a place where healthcare is a luxury. We also provide regular donations of sanitary towels, detergents, and tissues, supporting the dignity and well-being of our community.

At our Women's Center in Kariobangi, we empower young women from Magadi with vocational training in sewing and hairdressing. Witnessing their transformation from learners to leaders is nothing short of miraculous.

The highlight of our trip? Capturing the pure delight of parents seeing themselves in photos for the first time. Those polaroids were small windows into their lives, sparking a magic that's hard to put into words.

This is the essence of FICCS—more than an organization. We are a movement, a family, and a force for change. Every smile, every thank you, every success story fuels our passion to keep moving forward.

Thank you for being part of this emotional journey. Your support is the wind beneath our wings, lifting us all towards a brighter, more empowered future.

Residing within the Mathare slums of Nairobi poses numerous challenges due to limited access to healthcare and financial constraints. It's crucial for everyone in our teams and the community to possess effective first aid skills, enabling us to support each other in times of need. That's where Global FICCS stepped in, empowering the students and teachers at this school with basic life support skills and first aid training.

These skills enable them to assist each other before accessing medical help. This endeavor aligns with our 3E mission: educate, elevate, and empower lives. It signifies our commitment not only to imparting skills but also to enhancing their quality of life and providing them with the means to contribute positively to their community.

Additionally, we extend our support by donating sanitary towels to the girls in this school, ensuring they have access to essential hygiene products. In another initiative, we supply tissues and detergents to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, further enhancing the well-being of the students and the overall environment of the school.Yesterday, we're proud to announce that we trained 40 people, further expanding the reach of our efforts in building a safer and healthier community.

On International Women's Day, we had the privilege of spending a heartwarming day at Hawkers Market Girls Center, where Isabela and Shariffa are transforming the lives of young girls from humble backgrounds. These remarkable young women, often left stranded after completing school due to financial constraints, are finding new hope and opportunity at the center. From vocational training in hairdressing and beauty to entrepreneurship skills and even first aid, they're gaining the tools to shape brighter futures.

Together as Global FICCS, we celebrated the resilience and determination of these young women, discussing their importance, the challenges they face, mental health, and even participating in the empowering Sonya sequence exercise Their journey embodies our mission to educate, empower, and elevate lives with FICCS 3E.

On the second day in samburu, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Reteti Sanctuary , where we witnessed the heartwarming dance of orphaned elephants and their journey to the wild. Not only did we provide CPR and first aid training to the incredible staff, but our star student, a giraffe, proved that life-saving skills have no height limit!

Photos from Foundation for International Cardiac and Community Services's post 02/01/2024

On our first day in Samburu, our journey with the Sarara Foundation unfolded as a true eye-opener! We immersed ourselves in the heart of the community, exploring Montessori schools and experiencing life in manyattas. Living in distant camps, the locals encounter challenges accessing medical facilities, with an hour's journey to the nearest town hospital highlighting the urgent need for healthcare training, particularly in mother and child care.

As we delved into the locals' lives, cultural shocks awaited. Early marriages and pregnancies, some as young as 14, painted a stark reality. Mothers refrained from eating during pregnancy to avoid risks during childbirth, showering four days after delivery, and consuming cold animal blood before real food showcased unique traditions.

During our visit, Nurse Naomi took center stage, unveiling the safest childbirth techniques to ensure the well-being of mothers and infants. The limited medical access accentuated the importance of sharing essential healthcare skills with the community.

Recognizing the significance of bridging knowledge gaps, FICCS found it fundamental to offer training, ensuring locals were educated on proper childbirth procedures. These cultural practices witnessed on the ground emphasized the importance of this educational initiative.

For us, as global advocates, the commitment goes beyond a mere visit. FICCS envisions Samburu as an ongoing initiative, acknowledging that there are still lives to impact. It's a continuous effort to empower and uplift the Samburu community, creating a lasting difference in their healthcare practices and beyond.

Asante sana!
