It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share the news of the sudden passing of Commissioner Dennis Deer this past weekend. Dennis was not only a great man and a dedicated public servant, but also a cherished friend to me.

Our offices had the honor of working closely with Dennis on numerous initiatives, and his passion for improving our community was always evident. His unwavering commitment, leadership, and compassion touched countless lives, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him.

Dennis's legacy will continue to inspire us, and we are grateful for the time we had with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Commissioner Deer. You will be greatly missed.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth and the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. As the first Black Cook County Board of Review Commissioner, I honor our progress and commit to justice. Our office is closed today and will reopen tomorrow. Happy Juneteenth!

On Monday, December 18th, 2023, at 6:00pm, Commissioner Larry Rogers Jr., will be hosting a virtual Property Tax Appeal Forum for the taxpayers of Rich Township.
At this virtual event, you will learn how to file a property tax appeal with the Cook County Board of Review. A representative from the Board of Review will give 20-minute presentation to explain the appeal process and a Q & A session will follow.
