What a great pleasure to see for a drop off last weekend. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fix probably the best Rauch I got my hands on, quite a few of them (sorry to the rest of the Rauch owners, yours were amazing too but fixing this one then playing it I was like bro, bro, this is something else). Also, thank you for the tasty!!! I got that Thai place saved in my google maps.
Y’all if you have a very valuable horn, or it’s it very valuable to you we can do some magic on them.

To attend, please register using the RSVP link on our website, front page. Brian will be performing in the shop, as such we have a limited number of seats available. Show us a donor receipt to Horns for Hope for your chance to win a door prize - could be a Balu One Mouthpiece or one of our treasured mutes! To be eligible you must have proof of at least $20 USD, for every $50 donated you will receive an additional raffle entry!
Horns for Hope, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings horns and musical opportunities to marginalized populations and we certainly support this wonderful initiative.
More on Brian, our Artist in Residence:
Should time affect nothing?! After centuries of classical music recitals, The STAN Effect is performer-composer Brian KM’s answer to what a French horn recital isn’t but could be. He and his friendly computer, Stan explore all that’s possible when you combine the most acoustic instrument in the world with the least, pushing each one to the limits. They are wired to have a great show!

Please DM us with your name and address!
Tabulating the names and double checking for duplicates and making a google sheets took quite some time. 🤦🏻♂️ I def gonna ask for help next time.
Good morning y’all, raffle time: win a free mute bag.
Our new mutes bags are not just the cutest out there but also very functional: it fits your mute, you can a stack your lunch bag on top and in the side pocket you can carry your oils and tool kit. Pic with bell for size.
Rules:
1. Tag a friend who needs a mute bag (they will be entered in the raffle to win)
2. They can tag you back if you want to enter the raffle.
3. US horn players only, very sorry guys, shipping internationally costs more than the mute bag.
4. Y’all, like with previous raffles this is not a chance in 1000, this will be more like 1//15, 1/20, so the odds are good.
Let the fun begin.
Y’all we finally got verified, the normal step up for the business, I really liked the previous profile pic but this ain’t bad. Back to work now, have a great weekend ahead!

Happy Birthday to Jedi love you bro and can’t wait to hang out with y’all soon! I remember how he and le family surprised me last year at the shop with a cake. It was something else and very tasty and I think I ate half of the cake then had to take a long naaarp. Love you guys!
Y’all to celebrate the new website and me clocking another round around the sun last week we have some awesome deals. Check them out and spread the word. All inventory numbers are checked.
To make a website this responsive, fast and like, bro, super awesome it was a lot of work.
If the IG link from here doesn’t work, don’t stress, it needs to be indexed. Just google Balu Musik.
Let the fun begin. I’m sorry if the website does not work in some countries, we limited the access for now to USA, Canada, Western Europe, Japan, Australia and Korea. We love everyone and we’ll grant y’all access in a few days.

Hello y’all, here is a Paxman 20 pre ‘85. As you know these horns are very desirable and hard to find. This one belongs to and it’s available at $7,000. Condition is 9/10 for its age, perfect compression, ultrasonically cleaned. Will come polished and with an MB case.
FAQ: how many horns does David have? The right answer for all of us is too many and yet not enough.
Head to our YouTube channel BaluMusik to hear him talk about this horn and play it.
DM us for availability and with any questions. You can also text to 530 774 6871, att network outage has been fixed.
-
Y’all, Cooper (thank you!!!) donated this Alex 103, we donated the time to make this horn awesome; all proceeds from this sale will go towards helping students with his Horns for Hope foundation.
1960 gold brass Alex 103 that was in his family. This horn is an 8/10 cosmetically. Head to our YouTube channel Balu Musik to hear him talk and play a lot on this horn.
Raw iPhone recording, no external mic, no editing. As you probably know his sound projected over a whole orchestra playing Mahler (or whatever, you name it), in the notoriously “good” acoustics hall the cso has. The CSO performances were something else. The iPhone mic is a bit overwhelmed 😓

Text to 530 774 6971 or DM us for availability.
-
Y’all, this very Briz 800 is available at $3100. Head to our YouTube Balu Musik channel and hear Cooper play the horn. Thank you David. Store display with small dent. Of course I can remove the dents to perfection but I have to take the lacquer off. DM for availability.
More horns to come.

Y’all, making the Balu lil’ horn is a lot of work. But why??? It’s just a toy. This ain’t no toy, this is the perfect travel horn and it even has its dedicated leadpipe with a special taper.
1. Pearlescent finish. Yes, it’s pretty.
2. Adjustable pinkie. I make it smaller surface contact since it’s a lil horn.
3. Hand lapped rotors
4. Even the lil brace for the leadpipe has to be custom made to fit the curvature.
Lots of work but also a lot of fun to play these. They are in high F.
We are about to finish a few, and will have one available. DM us with questions.
-
Y’all, did you know that we also make functional jewelry, aka Maximus Minimus, the perfect lil’ travel horn.
Here what it takes to make the brace socket.
1. Very cool logo. Bro, whatever, this is not the brace, show it to me.
2. Select Thingie 1, whatever these are called.
3. Bend it to perfect so it fits the smaller tubing.
4. Check for fit.
5. Cut tiny silver wire.
6. Schmooze tiniest amount of brazing flux. Too much and it’s gonna burn around and make stuff ugly, ugh.
7. Bend said wire so it fits inside the socket nicely.
8. Place inside socket.
9. Using a clamp tweezer to perfectly hold socket in the middle and perpendicular, then braze it. Brazing is high temp. You keep it just enough to melt the silver, too much it burns the brace.
9. Time to go to the dentist for a cleaning, what we call the high speed tool that makes very similar sound.
Enjoy and SUPER thank you for those waiting for the lil’ horn. As expected this is gonna be something else. Thank y’all!

Good morning y’all. -29 F windchill is actually invigorating, stay toasty!
Mkay, let’s get to work!
Good morning y’all, let’s get to work!
Y’all, we have a great Paxman triple coming for sale. Yes, it’s a tank but if you hit the gym regularly and like a high performance horn this is the one.
Also, a sorcery is in progress on this, so you won’t recognize it by the time is ready.
It will have a very decent price, DM us for inquiries or text to 530 774 6871.
-
Y’all, a great 103 available at $7995. With Alex case. We did an ultrasonic, lacquer off, fixed some dents. Cosmetically this horn is a 9/10. You can hear playing it on YouTube.
This newer Alexander 103 has an amazing low register and F horn! It feels more open and responsive than any 103 I’ve played. It has an easy open high register as well. Hand hammered bell throat. I love playing this horn for chamber, solo stuff and it would be great in the orchestra as well. I am selling it because I am playing only a Geyer style horn and I don’t have much of a chance to switch instruments.
DM us with questions. Not available yet on our website.

Y’all, we have a few practice mutes in stock, only Walnut and Black Onyx.
Watch pinned reel underneath to get an idea how good they are.
-
Get one this week for guaranteed Christmas delivery. Free like a boss hat.
Why are they the best?
1. They cut 26-32 db (depending on your dynamics)
2. They have a slight convex cork so they fit any throat sizes (ughh, this is very hard to hand schmooze, one tiny wrong movement and the mute is totaled).
3. Proudly made here in the US with American labor and materials.
4. They look pretty good 😀
5. They gonna last a lifetime with decent care.
-
Holton Farkas H179. $3920. Legendary big sound, projection, etc, you know if you look for a Farkas model why you want one.
Available now. DM ur or text to 530 774 6871.

We worked a LOT to bring this horn back to its glory days, imma say a bit better than brand new. Why?
-
1. Cut bell with Alex ring, when I put the horn back together I made sure no braces are under pressure. This is very time consuming but important.
2. Perfect compression at .03
3. Dents out of the body, this was a ton of work but you know we are the ones to really do dent work. Annealed, dents out, polish. Body is dent free to 99%. Bell at 95%. Our 95% is pretty good.
4. Adjustable pinkie
5. New metal handguard with perfect installation.
6. Refinished valve caps.
7. Refinished levers.
-
But why under $4k when y’all sell $18K horns? We like to keep some horns under $4k since now we are offering Afterpay (up to $4K). This is a Square service offered to our customers that lets them do 4 biweekly payments with no interest or 6 to 12 months with interest. This is big deal and we never offered this before.

Thank you to our tuba customers (some of which have been waiting patiently for about 1.5 years!)
Our famous XL mutes are now available again, google balu tuba mute.
Which of the following is correct? (Check all that applies)
A. No funny notes thru any register (pretty big deal)
B. Interchangeable corks (a Balu innovation) so they fit any tubas. The XL are for 5/4, 6/4 tubas
C. Cork on top so it protects the inside of the tuba for fast in and out.
D. Bottom and front feet so it stays off the ground, and lays flat when needed for safe grab without rolling.
E. Unsurpassed beauty (this batch is really something else)
The correct answer is yes, all of the above.
If you have not gotten a fedex tracking DM us. International orders will go out tomorrow.
Spread the word and y’all, thank you again!!

Our Story
Balu Musik was founded in 2002 by Ion Balu. A professional horn player in the Romanian National Opera, Mr. Balu came to the U.S. to find a better life. Today, we are the choice of professionals and passionate amateurs alike, famous for our world-renowned mutes, and we are one of the exclusive dealers for Briz Horns. We strive to not only make customers happy with our elite-quality products, but to also go above and beyond for our customers. Give one of our Briz Horns a try; you will undoubtedly be impressed with the professional quality at an unbeatable price.
