How long should I wait to get my baby adjusted after birth? 🤱🏼

Answer: It’s never too early! So when you and your baby are ready to come in, we’ll be here waiting for you. 🥰 Babies are our specialty!

The birth process is traumatic on their little bodies and pediatric chiropractic care is a great way to get their nervous system happy and healthy. 🧠

The signs and symptoms of growing pains for your child aren’t just physical but can be emotional and behavioral as well. 😓 Their sleep is disrupted, and their little bodies have extra stress to deal with, throwing other things like emotions and even immune function a bit haywire 😵‍💫 while their body works through the physical components of that growth spurt.

As the bones of the body grow and get longer, this places added stress and tension on the muscles, ligaments, and sensory nerves that are all intricately connected. These periods of intensified bone development and overall growth can lead to temporary musculoskeletal imbalances, possibly causing the discomfort that children often describe as growing pains. 😩

If the tension and imbalance build up enough, it can lead to a condition called subluxation, where the neuromuscular system is overstressed and imbalanced. 📈 The challenge with subluxation is that instead of being transient, it can get locked in and become a long-standing problem for your child until assessed and adjusted by a trained Pediatric Chiropractor.

Dr. Michelle is one of the only chiropractors certified in chiropractic pediatrics in the Chippewa Valley.

A regular chiropractor in Wisconsin has a Bachelor's degree and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Chiropractic school is a little over 3 years of additional schooling, including only one class on pediatrics. Much like the difference between a family physician and a pediatrician, a pediatric chiropractor can train and research with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association for 2 additional years and become certified in chiropractic pediatrics.

Our office is designed specifically for kids with sensory boards on the walls, toys in every room and a pediatric adjusting space just for them.
