Tip Thursday. On this July 4th, whether you're out in a park or staying at home, we have some recommendations for helping your child deal with loud sounds. Your family and you may find these tips useful in assisting your child.

Each year, during the summer month of July, we commemorate Disability Pride Month. This is a special time set aside to ponder upon the history, victories, personal narratives, and obstacles faced by those in the disability community. We invite you to participate in celebrating and honoring these individuals.

All Inclusive Day of Play & Resource Fair is coming up soon. We are glad to be a part of a great event for families. The event will feature various activity stations, giveaways, crafts, character appearances, family resources, networking opportunities, shopping, games, and more!

This year, there will be a special Sensory Time from 11 to 11:30 am, offering a quieter environment for families who prefer a calmer setting. During this time, the master of ceremonies will make a single announcement and turn off the music to create a more peaceful atmosphere.

Join us for a comprehensive day of fun and a fair showcasing resources on Friday, July 12, from 11 am to 2 pm at Miramar Hourglass Recreation Center, located at 10440 Black Mountain Rd., 92126.

We wish to convey our admiration to all those recognized for their remarkable dedication to our students, in academia and otherwise. Kudos to South County SELPA’s very own Laura Cervantes for her 25 years of service, Diana Lynn for her 15 years of service, and a happy retirement to Robert Brown.

During Pride Month, we honor and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, recognizing their past, achievements, and ongoing fight for equal rights. It emphasizes inclusivity, diversity, and love, uniting people to support LGBTQIA+ rights and acknowledge progress towards a more accepting world.
