Congratulations 🎉
Congratulations to Shaine Casas who qualified for the U.S. Olympic swim team and will compete in the 2024 Olympic Games this summer in Paris. Casas, 24, placed 2nd in the 200-meter individual medley at the Olympic Trials held in Indianapolis last Friday. He is the son of former Border Patrol Agent James Epling, whose tragic line of duty death occurred during a 2003 rescue on the Colorado River. Shaine’s mother, Monica Epling, determined to instill courage and a love for the water in her son, introduced Shaine to swimming while he was a child. The Epling legacy of honor continues through their four sons: Sean Casas, a proud Arizona State graduate, Olympic swimmer Shaine Casas, and Seth MacKenzie-Epling and James Epling II—who are serving their country in the Marine Corps. We are so proud of this family!

🚨Homicide suspect arrested‼️
The community is safer after Boulevard Border Patrol Agents arrested a Chinese national who had an active homicide warrant. Amazing work arresting this dangerous person and protecting America🇺🇸👏🏽
This past week, agents from our San Clemente Station have taken more than 215 pounds of dangerous narcotics off the streets!
In three separate events, agents seized fentanyl, co***ne, and m**hamphetamine that had been smuggled into the United States and was making its way into our communities. Great work!
It’s always an honor to present awards to our agents. This week, I recognized three agents whose quick actions in the field saved lives and reflect U.S. Border Patrol’s core values of Vigilance, Integrity, and Service to Country.
While patrolling the border, one group of agents encountered a man with a severe laceration and saved his life by applying a tourniquet to the wound. In another event, an agent performed CPR on a woman in cardiac arrest, reviving her until emergency services arrived. Both migrants had been placed in harm’s way by callous smugglers and if not for the heroic actions of these agents, they would have perished.
Today we honor Border Patrol Agent Stephen Starch who died after he fell 150-feet while tracking suspected illegal aliens in the Tecate Peak area in San Diego County, California.

The man is now being held pending removal.
Agents continue to protect our communities while still managing the current humanitarian challenges.
Congratulations to the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station on their recognition as the 2023 Border Patrol Station of The Year.
That’s no small feat considering there are 135 Border Patrol Stations in the United States.
Patrol Agent in Charge Angel Munguia happily accepted the honors on behalf of his station.
OUTSTANDING WORK IMB!

The K9s associate odors with their reward toy and the handlers produce the reward when the K9 does a good job.
