Now Hiring: Bus Drivers ๐
CMCSS, like other school districts across the nation and other industries that need CDL drivers, has been navigating workforce shortages for the past several years. The Transportation Department understands the frustration with delays and service disruptions, and they are actively working to address them by expediting the training, hiring, and assignment of drivers.
CMCSS has shown significant progress in its Transportation operations and staffing over the past two years, moving from 50% staffing to 82% today. However, despite the improvement, CMCSS still needs around 60 additional bus drivers to operate the fleet most efficiently. The district is continuing to work on recruitment and retention to fully staff our Transportation Department to improve services and reduce delays.
Please help us spread the word that we are hiring! In 24 months, we have increased the starting pay by 22.5% from $16.21/hour in 2021 to $21.49/hour. CMCSS also offers several incentives, such as sign-on bonuses, paid training, stipends, and performance bonuses. For more information, please visit www.cmcss.net/busdrivers.
