We want everyone to know we will not have Sunday School this Sunday, August 25th We will have regular worship service at 10:45am for those that feel comfortable in attending. If you are unable to attend you can always view the service online. Please pray for our members that are not feeling well at this time and our church.
This Sunday, August 25, our church will begin a sermon series on the life of Joseph called: From the Pit to the Palace. The first sermon is titled: Living Confident in Crushing Circumstances from Genesis 41.
Joseph was thrown into a pit then sold into slavery (twice), falsely accused of r**e and put into prison. But as we will see GOD WAS working his plan all along. It wasn't apparent to Joseph, but he remained calm and faithful, confident in the greatness and goodness of his God. Joseph prevailed!
Join us in person, if you can, online if you are able and let's journey alongside Joseph and discover life changing principles that can still empower us to live confidently today.
See you Sunday,
Bro. Paul

FBC Lydia/Joy Sunday school class had their quarterly get together! We met at the home of Paul and Gwyn Smith! Betty Hankins and Gwyn Smith served a delicious, summer meal of salads. There was a lot of enjoyable fun and laughter with one another! Our next fellowship will be at the home of Lynda Weddle. daughter of Helen Weddle!
2 Samuel 9 is our text for the final sermon in our series about David and how he faced the giants in his life, starting with Goliath.
This chapter in 2 Samuel is packed with redemptive symbolism. We see it first with the Hebrew word David uses for "kindness" in verse 1, "Hesed". Whole books could be written on the full meaning of that word. Then there is Saul's grandson, Mephibosheth. That's a tough one to say, isn't it, even for a Hebrew name? The name may be difficult to say but it's meaning is very easy to understand specially in the context of what is going on in this chapter. I'll show you Sunday.
There is SO MUCH beautiful symbolism that is very applicable for you and me today!
Elohim (name for God). Table. Palace. Son. Never ending friendship. Plenty. Love. Forgiveness. All of these words or ideas are peppered throughout these 13 short verses. And they all point to one very simple truth: God loves us with a powerful, potent, commanding love, blemishes and all! Thank you, God!
Join me Sunday in worship as we unpack this awesome little chapter and discover "David's Greatest Moment of Grace". Love ya, BP
This upcoming Sunday we conclude our series "Facing Your Giants". David, through God, successfully faced off against seemingly insurmountable odds in the form of his giant, Goliath.
In his story we find so many of our stories, don't we?
In our final sermon, we will peer into the man and look at one of the more imposing giants the people of God face: THEMSELVES. See less

David's encounter with Goliath exemplifies how God can elevate an ordinary person to triumph over any challenge in remarkable, God honoring ways.
