PATHWAY TO SUCCESS💫: On Thursday, County Council Vice Chair Derrek Pugh (District 2) and staff attended an open house and ribbon cutting✂️ for the new Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina's Resource Opportunity Center in Columbia.

This new facility, at 111 Highland Center Drive📍, will include Goodwill’s Innovation Institute, which features access to career services and educational opportunities to make individuals job-ready💼!

✅The statewide general election is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
☑️Poll workers are needed to facilitate the voting process on Election Day.
✅Deadline to register to vote: Sunday, Oct. 6

Today, Council Chair Jesica Mackey (District 9) attended a groundbreaking for Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc. (MIRCI)'s new Millwood Place Transitional Living Youth Home.

The facility, on Millwood Avenue in Columbia, is for female-identifying youth who are at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The County’s Land Development Code (LDC) ensures the use of land in unincorporated Richland County is compatible with its corresponding zoning district.

Along with designating districts for residential development, the LDC also regulates land use for recreation, agriculture and more!
