Today, I had the honor and privilege to present the Patriot Award to Adam Director of the Berkeley Hall Club Bluffton, SC. Although I didn't realize that it was a two hour one way trip, it was the best experience to witness such patriotism. Adam was so humble and excited to receive this award. Witnessing his enthusiasm was well worth the trip.

SC ESGR’ Joey Byrd thanks Mary Dietzel and Shutterfly for signing a Statement of Support, demonstrating their support of SC Guard and Reserve Soldiers.

The Soldier recommending her stated,
“Mary has always been overly supportive of my need to serve and goes above and beyond. most recently when I was coming back from Drill Sergeant duties (30+ day AT), I came back to work as I had planned and she forced me to go home for the week to rest, recuperate, and spend time with the family. I was paid for this time off. I am the only person in my role in my manufacturing site. It is the type of role that can’t be left to get behind without directly impacting the business, this means coming back from PTO or leave means a huge mountain of work to catch up on. However, I have never come back from military leave with work waiting for me. She single handedly takes on my role, as well as hers, to ensure I come back with a clean slate. It’s not uncommon when I come back from military leave that my desk is completely decorated in military regalia and "we’re proud of you" signs. Mary also allows me the freedom to support the veteran community and volunteer with local organizations, such as Veterans Bridge Home (VBH), and even joins in. Last year she helped put together a team to help support an abandoned veteran cemetary clean up project for VBH. She even joined in and helped physically remove dead trees and debris.“
