Food Pantry Coordinator Needed

Crossroads UMC is looking for our next Food Pantry Coordinator. This ministry serves hundreds of households per month. It is part time position that oversees all aspects of the operation of the pantry. Because there is a dedicated group of volunteers, the coordinator’s work can be done in approximately 15 hours per week (some weeks a bit more, some a bit less).

The successful candidate:
• Is skilled in relating to a diverse range of people, especially those who access the pantry.
• Has organizational skills that will maintain smooth operation of the pantry.
• Will be able to supportively oversee the pantry’s volunteer staff.
• Appreciates and supports the congregation’s faith tradition, especially its commitment to welcoming all people.

Crossroads United Methodist Church, located in the Southwest Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio is searching for an Office Manager / Bookkeeper to add to our ministry team. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, people, and computer skills; demonstrated experience in basic bookkeeping; work well in a team environment as well as on their own; and a commitment to help the church’s mission move forward. Some experience and knowledge of the United Methodist Church is helpful, but not required.

This position is part-time and will require approximately 24 workhours per week. Of those hours, approximately 5-7 per week would be required for bookkeeping.

Friends, we've received word that there will be a gathering in the parking lot of the Westgate Rec Center this Sunday, May 8, at 11:30am for the community to come together in grief and support following last night's fatal shooting there. All are welcome.

Please be in prayer for the family of the victim and for our community.

Lent begins tonight with our Ash Wednesday service. This is a joint service with the other United Methodist congregations on the Hilltop.

Worship begins at 7pm at Parkview UMC in the Westgate area.

Food Pantry Coordinator Position Available

Crossroads United Methodist Church, located in the Brookshire neighborhood of the Hilltop in Columbus, is looking for a coordinator for its food pantry ministry. Serving thousands of persons on the Hilltop, the Crossroads Pantry is one of the busiest on the West Side.

The coordinator position is part time (15 hours per week, on average) and offers a competitive hourly wage. Previous experience working or volunteering in a food pantry is a plus.

Our food pantry will reopen next week after its holiday break, but we will return to offering pre-packaged boxes for each family. Please follow the signage for getting your car in line and wait in your car for someone to come to you to register. The pantry times are 4pm Tuesdays and 11am Wednesdays.
