Understanding Breakthrough Pain and Flares
This is a great article to explain BTP(Break thru Pain) in cancer patients, however, BTP is rising among non-cancerous patients people who suffer from ; Osteoarthritis Shingles, RA(Rheumatoid Arthritis),and Fibromyalgia. There are multiple times thru the day when BTP will strike while I am in the midst of walking, dressing, or just getting up that ultimately halts my progress. Learn what treatments works for you, if you struggle with medicines, try alternative therapies. My therapies are a combination of massage therapy, chiropractic, and nutrition that work together to provide some relief. During my daily flares I use peppermint for my nausea, warm showers for pain , try to lay down, in the end I simply wait it out (If I went to the hospital for my flares, I would be a live-in patient and my Doctor would never see me again) Acupuncture is soon to be added. I will keep you all posted, as I am petrified of needles

My personal thought on Fibromyalgia:
Fibromyalgia is a common enemy, and we should never give up on finding a cure! There is always a way to conquer your enemy, but, how can we defeat an enemy we know little about. After reading a few volumes of Sun Tzu the Art of War (translated by Thomas Cleary), I adopted the mindset and learned that to defeat my enemy I must know my enemy. First, learn about your enemy, we should educate ourselves and gain understanding on Fibromyalgia; then once we understand our enemy, we can then begin to understand the enemies’ weakness. We will have a better chance to survive our flares and eventually defeat our enemy entirely by knowing what and how to combat those flare-ups, symptoms, and causes. It will take time, patience, struggle and pain but Together we can beat fibromyalgia!
