We are the High Energy Density Physics research group in the Department of Physics at The Ohio State University.
We study the interactions of ultra-short, ultra-intense laser pulses with matter.

Benjamin Reinke has been appointed as a 2016 American Nuclear Society Congressional Fellow, part of a cohort of American Academy for the Advancement of Science Fellows. Reinke will work as staff to a house member, senate or congressional committee in Washington, D.C. to further nuclear and science public policy at the national level and to contribute to the federal policymaking process. He is the second candidate from Ohio State to be appointed an ANS Congressional Fellow.

Clifford Will, Distinguished Professor of Physics at the University of Florida, will deliver the next Science Sundays lecture, “Black Holes, Waves of Gravity & Other Warped Ideas of Dr. Einstein” on Sunday (1/11) from 3-4 p.m. in the Wexner Center Film/Video Theater (reception from 4-5 p.m.).
