Established in 1993 as a non-profit organization to serve as a network-wide support association for Ohio’s local CASA/GAL programs. The Association monitors the statewide implementation of National CASA Association standards of practice; holds quarterly director’s meetings and bi-annual training meetings; communicates regularly with local programs via a quarterly newslet

In 1989, local CASA program directors established the Ohio CASA/GAL Association. Since, we have been honored to develop community connections and a growing Ohio CASA Network.

Greene County CASA volunteers and staff recently took part in a special book reading and CASA recruitment event at the Yellow Springs Library. Volunteers and community members had a discussion with author Stephanie Clare Smith.

Court Appointed Special Advocates program helps abused, neglected kids in Stark, Carroll The Court Appointed Special Advocates program has 35 volunteers who serve as the voice for children when their cases go to court.
Ohio CASA staff was honored to take part in the recent “Leadership and Life Skills Summit.”
Youth who have experienced foster care were provided with opportunities to learn life and leadership skills, as well as build peer connections. Ohio Department of Children and Youth, Ohio Children's Alliance, ACTION Ohio and foster care advocates helped make this all possible.

What an amazing turn out at the first ever Kilts for CASA Kids event benefiting CASA of Portage County! The CASA of Portage County Associate Board team put on a full day of meaningful events - including a biker run, spaghetti dinner and more - designed to spread the word about CASA.
Ohio CASA staff was honored to meet so many dedicated volunteers + CASA supporters.

What a special day at the official Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony for the new ProKids space in Downtown Cincinnati!
Hundreds of community members, CASA volunteers and area leaders came together to tour the new space and reaffirm the commitment to helping children in need.

In May 2024, programs across Ohio served about 6,000 children experiencing abuse and neglect. Over 30% of those children were between 6 and 11-years-old.

This week program directors, staff members and Ohio CASA staff came together in Columbus. It was an important opportunity to share the latest child welfare information, build connections and share feedback.
CASA teams from across the state joined us. In Ohio, there are currently 47 CASA programs that serve children experiencing abuse and neglect in 60 different counties.

It is a question our team often asks volunteers across Ohio! Here is what Darke County Casa, Inc. volunteer Mara Farmer told us:
"The training was eye-opening. Very thorough, lots of information, very eye-opening in a good way. If you have an opportunity...and if you want to see your community be better, definitely talk to somebody about stepping forward and volunteering with CASA."

Ohio CASA is excited to announce a new effort: Tuesday Trainings.
Thanks in part to the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, eligible Ohio attorneys can obtain two hours of free, required CLE credits per virtual training session.

This weekend the Ohio CASA Network was represented at The Savannah Bananas games at Huntington Park! 🔵🟡 The team's Bananas Foster charity spreads the word about foster care - encouraging the community to step up as a foster family or a volunteer! Foster families were highlighted all weekend.
What a special way to share the word about and promote the importance of helping youth in the foster care system. You can make an impact as a CASA volunteer today! Thank you to all who showed their support as part of this special experience.
