This week, Form IV students got their new band instruments assigned! They unwarpped each one carefully, learned to assemble them, and even got to try to make a few first sounds. To help with this exciting day, band alumna C.C. McLarty '23 was on campus to work with the flutes! 🎶

There was a Unicorn gathering at the Lazarus Reunion back in August! 🦄 Shared by Babette Gorman '69, 8 of the surviving 13 family members made it - but a total of 18 Lazarus women graduated from CSG!

Today at CSG we officially kick off 24-25 school year with our annual Convocation program. Per tradition, we will celebrate and honor the senior class as they begin their final year before offically joining the alumnae community! 💛

Alice Grant, former faculty member and CSG's first dance teacher, will be honored at the Lincoln Theatre this weekend for her incredible contributions to dance in Columbus! 🩰✨

Alice's remarkable career includes dancing with Pearl Bailey and opening the first ballet studio for children of color in Columbus. Her energy and passion left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of learning from her during her time at CSG.
Celebrate Alice Grant's legacy at the Walk of Fame induction ceremony this weekend, Saturday 27th at 7pm at the Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St.

Clara Livingston '19 is directing her first play in New York next week at The Tank NYC! Fellow alumnae Gabriella Cain '21 and McKenna Merriman '21 are also involved with the stage management of the show.

Last week, there was a small gathering of CSG alumnae in Cleveland with Sarah Young Taylor '75, Julie Steigerwald '75, Donna Young '76 and Betsy Steigerwald Yingling '76!

Donna was in town for a visit, so Sarah's husband Steve, former director of the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, set the group up with with a great tour. They encountered a whole herd of unicorns 🦄, which are at the zoo in preparation for the annual Asian Lantern Festival!

Upper School students in the Web Design course have created a fantastic website and registration page for alumna Paula Penn-Nabrit '72's STEM-to-STEAM: It's All in the Garden summer camp! Well done, coders! 🚀💻 Paula's camp offers children a joyful exploration of biodiversity in plants, people, and the arts and sciences. 🌱✨

Current CSG senior Muriel Wallace is having an extra special Senior May Program thanks to the mentorship of 3 local alumnae Judges!

Muriel is shadowing the husband of alumna and current parent Mindy Snyder '93. Becuase of the power of the CSG network, Muriel was able to connect with Judge Beatty-Blunt '92, Judge Betsy Luper Schuster '90, and Judge Jaiza Page '02!

From sitting on the bench during sentencing hearings and hearing a jury verdict during a criminal trial, to learning about the 10th District and having 1:1 lunches, Muriel is learning so much thanks to this incredible unicorn community! 🦄👩‍⚖️

Recently, CSG was honored to host distinguished alumna, author, and advocate Cynthia Yenkin Levison '63! 📚✨ During her visit, Cynthia engaged with our students from each Division, leading discussions, speaking during our Cum Laude ceremony, signing copies of her books, and even visiting our Alumnae Book Club! ✍️📖 Her impactful work has earned recognition from prestigious organizations like the NAACP and the American Library Association. What a privilege to welcome back such a wonderful member of the CSG community! 🖋️⭐

Exciting news—Britta von Schoeler ’93 will be our 2024 Commencement speaker for our 125th ceremony at CSG! 🎓⭐
As President at Broadway Video Enterprises, Britta has worked on iconic shows like Saturday Night Live and launched podcasts featuring stars like Kate McKinnon and Paul Rudd. She credits CSG with giving her the confidence to break into the industry: “CSG made me feel like I could do whatever I set my mind to,” Britta said. 📽️🎬

Wow, what a weekend! 🦄⭐ Our 2024 Alumnae Weekend was an incredible celebration of sisterhood in our CSG community! With over 150 attendees, alumnae from every decade came together to relive cherished memories and create new ones. ❤️💛

From nostalgic moments spotting old school photos during the Eras Tour to toasting to 125 years and more at the cocktail party, this reunion was truly special. A huge thank you to everyone who returned to campus to make this reunion truly unforgettable! 🎉✨

The CSG Scholarship Walk is a beloved tradition that dates back to 1972! While the location and distance walked may have changed over the years, our commitment remains to ensure that every student who could flourish and thrive at CSG has the opportunity to do so.

The students will walk this Friday, April 19th for a total of 8 miles! We are looking for volunteers to manage stations along the trail! If you are interested, please reach out to [email protected] and we will share a sign up link. It will be a fun day cheering students on alongside current faculty and parents!

Did you know, this past school year, over $2.4 million was awarded in scholarships and tuition assistance to 38% of our student body. Your support of the CSG Scholarship Walk allows us to remain committed to continuing to foster a vibrant school community and ensuring that a CSG education is accessible to families all over central Ohio.

On Wednesday, 13 US students attended the IGNITE National Advocacy Day at the Statehouse, led by alumna Cameron Tiefenthaler '20! Cameron is the Ohio Fellow for IGNITE National, a nonpartisan non-profit that works to educate and support young women as we engage in politics and run for office.

The group got to hear from Ohio State Senator Nickie Antonio too!
