Recent assessment scores are showing a slight acceleration of growth for New Hampshire students in many grade levels, but not enough to make up lost academic ground since the pandemic. New Hampshire’s preliminary performance scores from 2024 indicate slow and modest improvements in several areas compared to last year’s assessment results, however math scores, in general, are failing to keep pace.

BIG NEWS! Crotched Mountain Foundation has approved a new round of partnership awards to New Hampshire schools in low-income communities to improve education and opportunities for kids with autism and other disabilities. The CMF Kids program announcement brings the total three-year investment in New Hampshire special education to over $3 million.

The following communities and their representative school districts have been selected as this round’s CMF Kids partners:

Berlin – $190K ​
Providing an inclusive/accessible developmental preschool playground​, as well as upgrades to life skills programs for elementary, middle, and high school students.

White Mountain School District – $150K ​
To build/train staff capacity to educate kids with developmental disabilities including autism.

Littleton – $300K
Purchasing a van for Special Education to provide vocational training and community experiences. Supporting a two-year Special Education teaching residency for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years.

Newport – $300K
For teacher and administrator special education professional development, including coaching and mentorship for school leadership.
