This is the part of the body that MOST people want to reduce and ironically it is one of the most frequent spots that the body will store fat 😳. Now 1st and foremost I’m sure you know that YOU CANNOT SPOT REDUCE FAT. Okay great now that we’ve got that out the way, let’s get to today’s topic.

🔥 Tip # 1: consume high quality protein- high quality protein will contain at least 10g of essential amino acids. Amino acids trigger protein synthesis so you will Be building more muscle tissue. More muscle = more calories burned at rest. Plus protein based meals increase satiety and reduce the production of “hunger” hormones like ghrelin so that helps with urges to snack in between meals.

🔥 Tip #2: Increase insulin sensitivity- insulin is the hormone that the body releases in response to the rise in blood glucose levels after you’ve eaten a meal. Someone who is insulin-resistant has a hard time partitioning the nutrients they consume, causing the body to store much of the glucose you consume as fat; often in your lower stomach and lower back. Here are some ways to increase insulin sensitivity:
1. Avoid high glycemic and processed carbs- reduce meals with bread or pasta and increase complex carbs like quinoa, rice and potatoes
2. Take apple cider vinegar before bed: this has been shown to reduce fasting blood glucose levels by 4%.

🔥 Tip #3: Reduce stress levels- cortisol is your body’s stress hormone. Chronically elevated cortisol levels have a very negative impact on your health and causes your body to store more fat around your midsection.

🔥 Tip #4: Do interval training- hiit makes you perform quick bursts of max effort activity followed by a short rest period. This promotes the production of growth hormone, which is a hormone that promotes muscular development and fat burning.

There you have it. These changes will take time and will not happen overnight. You can’t spot reduce belly fat by doing abs exercises although you can build a killer 6-pack when done correctly. These tips will help you reach your goals more quickly.
