Produce for the People is an organic community garden with over 13,500 sq. ft. of vegetables, berries and fruit trees, a greenhouse, and an outdoor kitchen.
The Produce for the People garden grows fresh nutritious food for low-income individuals and agencies while providing opportunities for gardeners of all ages to grow, learn, and contribute to the community. The space is collaboratively managed by a small group of volunteers, with larger groups attending single-time work parties and workshops. Our harvest is donated to local food banks and agencies

Our Story
Produce for the People is an organic community garden with over 13,500 sq. ft. of vegetables, berries and fruit trees, a greenhouse, and an outdoor kitchen. The space is collaboratively managed by a small group of volunteers, with larger groups attending single-time work parties and workshops. Our harvest is donated to local food banks and agencies. Each year we donate 3000-6000 lbs. of produce!
JOIN US:
Mondays and Thursdays 9am-noon, sometimes we have Saturday work parties
No garden experience is needed. We will enthusiastically work with individuals of all ages and abilities, and we have a variety of tasks requiring diverse skill-sets. Youth under 16 should attend with a responsible adult.

PRODUCE FOR THE PEOPLE IS LOOKING FOR AN INTERN!
We are looking for quarterly interns during the 2019-20 school year. Internship duties and responsibilities will vary, depending on individual talents and interests. Potential tasks include: attending work parties, weighing and donating produce, outreach to the community, connecting with local food and volunteer -related agencies to foster partnerships, leading work parties or workshops, leading youth activities, and grant writing. Our leadership committee provides training and support for this position. This internship is not paid. Target population: Produce for the People donates food to the South Corvallis Food Bank, Community Outreach, and soup kitchens, among other agencies. We have partnered for volunteers and workshops with Corvallis Parks and Rec Youth Volunteer Corps, the Center for Civic Engagement, 4-H, and Master Gardeners. Each year approximately 800 volunteers attend 2500 hours of work parties, and we donate over 3000-6000 lbs of produce.
What interns do at this site: attend work parties, harvest, weigh and donate produce, outreach to the community, connect with local food and volunteer -related agencies to foster partnerships, lead work parties or workshops, lead youth activities, grant writing and provide healthy food tastings in our outdoor kitchen and at food banks (specific responsibilities will vary by interest and skill level).
