We are very excited to be welcoming Lawrence Ross next Wednesday to hear his “Blackballed” lecture on campus racism. Join us on 5.17 @ 6pm in Gill Coliseum to hear him speak!

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀:
Ross is a proud alumni of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and currently serves as the president of their Inglewood, CA alumni chapter.

His first book, The Divine Nine: The History of African American Fraternities and Sororities, was the first book written about all nine African American fraternities and sororities, and has since received multiple best-selling titles.

As a result of his work, Ross has lectured at over 800 colleges and universities, speaking on fraternalism, student development, and fraternity and sorority hazing.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲:
His Blackballed lecture addresses specific campus racism incidents and causes for such occurrences in a blunt yet entertaining manner.

This keynote provides an opportunity to bridge gaps in knowledge regarding the identification of racism and bias, and different experiences centered on race and ethnicity.

Today we wear denim to show our support for survivors of sexual violence.

Denim Day started as a local campaign to raise awareness for victim blaming and myths around sexual violence, and has grown into a global movement.

To any survivors who may be reading, please know, we believe you, and we stand with you. 💙
