Ross is a proud alumni of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and currently serves as the president of their Inglewood, CA alumni chapter.
His first book, The Divine Nine: The History of African American Fraternities and Sororities, was the first book written about all nine African American fraternities and sororities, and has since received multiple best-selling titles.
As a result of his work, Ross has lectured at over 800 colleges and universities, speaking on fraternalism, student development, and fraternity and sorority hazing.

His Blackballed lecture addresses specific campus racism incidents and causes for such occurrences in a blunt yet entertaining manner.
This keynote provides an opportunity to bridge gaps in knowledge regarding the identification of racism and bias, and different experiences centered on race and ethnicity.
