Time again for this year's Annual Halecrest Chili Cookoff. This year's cookoff is dedicated to the memory of Brad Long, past cameraman for Costa Mesa TV and long time friend of the cookoff. Come join us to honor Brads memory and enjoy a great day.

Halecrest & Hall of Fame Community Meeting
Date: Thursday April 28, 2016
Time: 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Location: Halecrest Swim & Tennis Club 3107 Killybrooke (Large meeting room)

If you live in the Halecrest/Hall of Fame community you are encouraged to attend this meeting. The intent of this meeting is to create awareness and discuss topics regarding:
• Increase of crime in our neighborhood/city
• Increase in drug activity
• Increase in Homeless population in our city/neighborhood
A member of the Costa Mesa Police Department will be in attendance to participate in the discussion and answer questions related to the three topics listed above.
We have many new neighbors and feel this is a good opportunity to introduce ourselves and make them aware of the neighborhood communications available. It is also an opportunity to rekindle our Neighborhood Watch Program.
We will have information hand-outs as well as a form to list any questions that may not get answered during the meeting. The forms will be collected and answered at a later time.
*Please bring a pen.
Please arrive early as the meeting will start promptly at 6:30 and end on time.

Its that time again for some food, fun and friends at the Halecrest Chili Cook-Off. Come join us for a day you don't want to miss. Invite your friends to an old Halecrest tradition.

This was posted on Nextdoor.com by a neighbor today and it is important to share.

Today my daughter was walking from Murray Ln down Belfast towards Fairview when a black small SUV (Chev Equinox or Ford Edge) newer model starting following her. They (man and woman of Pilipino decent) pulled up to the curb and said that she had their phone. My daughter told them it was her phone and started walking again, they insisted on seeing the phone and my daughter refused which then the man got out of the car and my daughter walked up to our house. She phoned the CMPD and since she does not have the license plate number (as she put it, she went into panic mode) and did not phone CMPD while happening they can not send out a patrol car. We drove around the neighborhood to see if we could see the car and did not see it. This all happened about 11am this morning

Happy Thanksgiving to all Halecrest/Hall of Fame families. I am thankful for all of you and for the great community we live in.

Last night's power outage is a reminder to all: are you prepared for an emergency?
Thanks to the quick response of the Costa Mesa Police and Fire who were out there making sure we were safe. Thank them whenever you see them.
