Hello Recyclers!

Due to a lack of funding, our battery and fluorescent lightbulb collection program will be ending as of June 29, 2021. We want to thank Costa Mesa Sanitary District for their partnership with this program over the years and we hope to work with them on future projects! If you've been meaning to bring in your household batteries or fluorescent light bulbs, feel free to bring them in before the end of the month.

After June 29, you can still bring your batteries and fluorescent light bulbs to Household Hazardous Waste sites throughout the county, including:

Huntington Beach Collection Center -- 17121 Nichols Lane, 92647, Gate 6
Irvine Collection Center -- 6411 Oak Canyon, 92618

Hello Recyclers! Good news!

The Orange Coast College Recycling Center is set to reopen May 4th after yearlong closure

Following more than a year of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Orange Coast College’s Recycling Center is set to reopen on Tuesday, May 4. The Center will be operating with modified business hours and procedures in order to ensure safety for both employees and visitors. Please thoroughly consider the following:

-The Recycling Center will be open from Tuesday until Saturday, and closed on Sundays and Mondays (see full operating hours below).
-Masks will be required for all employees and patrons, and social distancing of 6 feet or more must be observed.
-In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, all materials, including donated materials, must be sorted before the Recycling Center receives them, including bottle caps removed from all bottles.
-Additional safety measures include the availability of hand sanitizer for customer use and sanitation procedures for high-touch surfaces.

Our preliminary hours of operation will be:

MONDAY – CLOSED
TUESDAY – 9:00am – 3:00pm
WEDNESDAY – 9:00am – 3:00pm
THUSDAY – 9:00am – 3:00pm
FRIDAY – 9:00am – 2:00pm
SATURDAY – 9:00am – 4:00pm
SUNDAY – CLOSED

In addition, all CalRecycle regulations for CRV buyback by State Certified Recycling Centers will be followed, including:
-Load Limits – If any aspect of a load exceeds CalRecycle load limits (100 lbs each for plastics or aluminum, 1000 lbs of glass), the entire load will be rejected.
-Count limits – Materials are able to be paid by count (by request), up to 50 of each material in a load, per day.
-Contamination – Loads containing excess dirt, liquids, food waste, or other contaminants may be subject to discounting

Thank you for all of the calls, e-mails, and Facebook comments during our time of closure. We appreciate the immense support we have received from our community and we look forward to serving your recycling needs!

Hello Recyclers!

We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm for us to open back up! We wanted to thank everybody who's reached out to us and, although we don't have an exact reopening date yet, we're encouraged by the rising vaccination rates and falling COVID numbers in our community. We expect to be able to open much closer to sooner than later at this point, so again, thank you all for your patience and stay tuned!
