Subject: Important Update Regarding School Safety

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We were made aware of a potential threat to the Round Valley Elementary/Middle School and Round Valley High School, which was immediately reported to the local law enforcement. Round Valley Tribal Police and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office responded to the threat swiftly and we are relieved to inform you that the threat has been fully mitigated.

Thanks to the quick action of the authorities, at no time were students in immediate danger and school will resume on Tuesday, October 15th as scheduled.

We understand that incidents like this can be concerning, and we want to assure you that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure the security of our schools.

Safety is our number one priority. In light of the fact that we had to lock down for emergency situations that were near the school this week, we are scheduling Early Release at 1:00 PM tomorrow for students so staff can meet and review safety protocols.
