Today the Round Valley Unified School District honored Malakai for his perfect attendance from Kindergarten through 8th grade. 1620 days!
We are very proud of Malakai!
While waiting for the board meeting his mom said...."High School is only 4 years! You can do it and have perfect attendance through High School as well"

On Tuesday, June 4th, our 2nd Grade had their end of the year Spelling Bee. Second grade finished their phonics program in early May, which included their spelling program. Then 2nd grade started studying six lists (60 words) each week and began in class "Spell-offs". The goal was to come up with the top eight spellers in each class. It was tough, because there were many good spellers. At the Spelling Bee, students were given words from the thirty 2nd grade spelling lists, including bonus words not on the list. Here are the names of the top five spellers:
5th Place: Vincent Alvarez
4th Place: Dennis Mitchell
3rd Place: Lane Hoaglen
2nd Place: Amiah Hoaglen
1st Place: Tanner Hastings
El martes 4 de junio, nuestro segundo grado tuvo su concurso de ortografía de fin de año. El segundo grado terminó su programa de fonética a principios de mayo, que incluía su programa de ortografía. Luego, el segundo grado comenzó a estudiar seis listas (60 palabras) cada semana y comenzó en la clase "Spell-offs". El objetivo era encontrar a los ocho mejores alumnos de cada clase. Students were honored today at an end-of-the-year attendance awards ceremony. Students who only missed 3 days all year received a $25 Amazon Gift Card.
Students who only missed 2 days all year received a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
Students who only missed 1 day all year received a $75 Amazon Gift Card.
Students with perfect attendance all year received a $100 Amazon Gift Card.
Attendance at school is extremely important.

La asistencia a la escuela es extremadamente importante.

The Mendocino College Foundation recognized four fifth-grade students today for the "Adoopt A Fifth Grader" program. These students received a $25 gift card and a guarantee of a $1,000 scholarship if they attend Mendocino College when they graduate from High School or $500 if they go to any other school.
