The City of Cuba is looking for a full time Animal Control Officer. ACO Cameron is leaving to pursue a career in law enforcement and was accepted into the academy. We will miss him so much but this is a great opportunity for someone that loves to work with animals.

Tail wags and slobbery kisses galore! This adorable pup found a new home with a daddy who needed some cheer after recently losing his furry companion. Looks like this little cutie is just what the doctor ordered! Thanks for coming all the way from St. Louis to adopt from the Cuba Shelter.

This little one found a forever home this weekend and left in loving arms. Our cat cages are still filled with many kittens and cats that need homes.

Clover, a very popular girl, was adopted today and went home with a loving family. Her new momma was thrilled to be first in line. We process adoptions on a first-come, first-serve approved application basis. Happy adoption day, sweet girl!

Are you looking to expand your family? Clover was never claimed and she is off stray hold and ready to meet her forever family. She is a Terrier mix about 6 months old and weighs 11 lbs.

Clover has a calm disposition but loves to play. She would love to have another fur brother or sister to hang around with. She has made friends at the shelter but needs a forever home. If you are interested in meeting her please come by the shelter and pick up an application.

Another puppy found a forever home. We have 2 brindle males left, one black female and 3 female brindle to choose from.

Another puppy adopted. We still have 3 males and 4 females available for adoption from this litter.

Our cat cages are full. Check out Cheetah, our little ball of fur who's almost old enough to go home and several more littles about the same age to choose from. They are adorable, playful and loud purring machines. And, if you're looking for a more grown-up kitty, we've got male and female adults just waiting for a forever family!

Cleo, a sweet cat, enjoys perching on the cat condo and looking out the window. She'll be available for adoption after receiving her rabies vaccination on 8/20. If you're interested in meeting her, please reach out to us.

Update on the Mommas to the 14 puppies. To recap, 2 pregnant momma dogs were dumped in the Industrial Park. It took us several days to catch them. We were able to catch Momma 1 and bring her into our care on June 14. She needed immediate vet care. She had been hit by a car and had abrasions on both legs and could not put weight on her left front leg. There was nothing broken, and it was hopeful that the nerve damage she sustained, would heal on its own.

A live trap was set for Momma 2 and we were able to get her later in the day. Both dogs were very scared and unsure of their new surroundings. 3 days after we brought them into our care, Momma 1 delivered 4 puppies and Momma 2 delivered 11 puppies. One of the puppies did not survive. They were very protective but slowly started to trust us.

Both dogs were very attentive Mommas to their puppies but Momma 1 was not improving with bearing weight on her left front leg. She did her best and hobbled in and out to go potty, but it was determined that the nerve damage was not going to heal on its own.

After the puppies were weaned, another trip to the vet determined that her leg had to be amputated. She had surgery on August 7 and is doing well. She is still very sore and is on antibiotics and pain pills as she recovers. She will have her staples out on August 19.

Both Mommas are very sweet and very adoptable. Both will be spayed before adoption thanks to donations to Partners for the Cuba Pound. We will introduce them for adoption as soon as we can. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. In the meantime, they delivered some beautiful puppies and we still have 8 available for adoption. They are a mix of colors of brindle, chocolate and black and both male and female are available to choose from.

The puppies are our featured Pets of the Week and they are even cuter in person.
Available are 3 brindle boys, 3 brindle girls, 1 female chocolate and 1 female black.

They have had their first puppy shot, wormed, and lovingly cared for by our staff. Puppy breath included. We are open 9-3 Monday-Saturday.

Sawyer was adopted today and immediately jumped onto his sister's lap, heading home with his forever family without looking back. We will miss you, Sawyer. Be a good boy!
