Street Preaching Right Across From A Mosque Part 01
Brothers Landon Thurman and Hood Theologian visited La Mirada, California, to share the life-changing message of the Gospel on a busy street corner, situated directly across from a mosque. Our mission was to reach out to the community and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to the many drivers waiting at the red light, those filling their gas tanks, and individuals entering the mosque for their daily prayers.

Empowered by our love and concern for our neighbors in La Mirada, we communicated the urgent message to flee from the impending wrath that comes as a result of sin. As stated in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and it is essential to recognize the consequences of our actions against a God who is good, holy, righteous, and just. His nature demands that sin be punished.

Yet, amidst this reality, we shared the Good News: Jesus Christ has come to rescue sinners. As John 3:16 beautifully puts it, “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This is the hope we extended to everyone who passed by, urging them to turn away from their sins and look to Jesus Christ, the God-Man, for their salvation before it is too late.

Throughout our time there, we witnessed a few individuals stop by our table to take literature that detailed the message of the Gospel, while many others walked by, visibly encouraged by the public proclamation of the truth. We quoted Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus’ Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” This drove home the importance of our mission that day.

As we cried out to the lost, our hearts were filled with compassion for those who have not yet experienced the grace freely offered through Christ that we have been given. We implored them to consider the message of salvation, knowing that it is a matter of eternal significance. Please join us in prayer for all who heard our message, that their hearts may be softened and their minds opened to the truth of the Gospel. We trust that God’s Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11) and that, through the power of His Spirit, lives may be transformed. God bless.

Here are 4 clips from a powerful night of evangelism at the Santa Monica Pier. Thousands of souls flooded in worldwide, hearing the Word of the Lord proclaimed in the open air. A few mockers yelled while I was preaching, "Nobody cares, no one is listening, go home." Brandon and his wife Karla stopped to listen. They were both grieving the death of their child and were thinking about the afterlife. After walking them through the Gospel, Brandon was in tears hearing about the love of God found in the Son and what He did for sinners who look to Him exclusively for their salvation. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says, "For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death."

Landon Thurman and Elijah Ching visited the Santa Monica Pier on June 29th and had the privilege of preaching the glorious Gospel to thousands of tourists from around the world visiting beautiful Southern California. Two messages were preached in the open air that night, one on how the god of your imagination is false and to turn to Jesus Christ, Who is the Truth, and another about how time is running out. A young man, Brandon, and his wife stopped by to listen and felt drawn to the word “Time is running out.” We went over to talk with them and learn about where they stood in their religious belief. They shared that they were both Christian but did not know how to get to heaven. After asking, “Why should God let you into His kingdom?” he replied, “He shouldn’t,” and broke down in tears. We went into sharing with him the hope found in Christ and that it genuinely seemed God was drawing him to His Son, Jesus Christ. As it says in John 6:44, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.” 2 Corinthians 7:10, “For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.” It was a beautiful conversation. We prayed over him and sent him home with a Bible, urging him to cry out to God for His mercy to find him. We also had our table stationed with free Bibles, Gospel tracts, and other great literature. Praise be to God that we handed out over 600 Gospel tracts and about 6 Bibles that night. It most certainly was a fruitful labor.

A group of us went out to the Jesus Image 24 Event in Anaheim, California, at the Convention Center preaching against false teachers and pointing people to the true biblical Gospel just outside of it. Many attendees would come up and ask us why we were there, and we would share our loving concern that, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we must warn one another of a false gospel and teaching. Acts 20:28-30 says, “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.” While the event did not physically have Benny Hinn present, many of the guest speakers on stage labor in ministry together and are under the yoking of his teachings, one who openly has denied the Trinity believing in a “9-godhead.” Many seemed to be running to this event because they were driven by their emotions trusting in signs and wonders, yet Jesus Christ says in Matthew 12:39, An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign…” It has come to our attention that many people are seeking hope and spiritual experiences in the wrong places. We are concerned that the teachers at this event may be taking advantage of them. We hope that the attendees will carefully consider and test what we have shared. We encourage everyone to investigate the concerns we have raised and to turn to Scripture, the only standard of truth, and to distance themselves from false teachers.

A group of us went out to share the truth of the Gospel at the David Diga Hernandez “Holy Spirit” Encounter Event in Anaheim, CA. Brother Gerry Collins preached that Christianity is not about having your best life now, as many of the attendees were being led to believe by the men on the stage who promised them things that the Lord was not promising them. Brother Gerry preached from Revelation 3:14-22 – To the Church in Laodicea, a church that was concerned with their wealth and fulfillment in their physical life rather than looking to Christ alone. Jesus begins the message with condemnation: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.” He emphasized their “lukewarm,” apathetic nature three times. As a result of their ambivalence to spiritual things, Jesus would have nothing to do with them. With their apathy came a spiritual blindness; they claimed to be rich, blessed, and self-sufficient. The same is true for those following after the false prosperity gospel teachers who promise you health, wealth, and prosperity now in the name of Christ. Yet Christ tells them to repent of their sin: “I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see” (Revelation 3:18). Their material wealth had no eternal benefit, so Jesus commands them to come to Him for true, spiritual riches. Only Christ can supply an everlasting inheritance, clothe us in righteousness, and heal our spiritual blindness. “Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me” Beware of teachers like David Diga Hernandez and those affiliated with him and his ministry because of his mentorship and association with false heretic Benny Hinn who rejects the trinity and preaches a false prosperity gospel. Many attendees are running to an event such as this to find a “spiritual blessing” or word spoken over their life, and they lack the understanding that all things are found in God’s Word and man shall live upon His faithful Word alone. The Bible says in Galatians 1:6-9, “I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!”

Rick Garland Jr., Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lomita, preaching at the Long Beach 2024 Grand Prix in partnership with Sports Fan Outreach to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since God's standard is perfection, it's absolutely impossible for anyone to ever meet it. That's why Christ came; He came to save sinners. Since God cannot die, He had to become a Man to die on behalf of sinners to reconcile His people back to Himself. With the flood of Jehovah's Witnesses nearly on every corner around the event, Brother Rick exposed the falsehoods of their doctrinal beliefs and false gospel, which are contrary to the teachings of God's Word, and addressed the false prophecies of Charles Taze Russell. A plea went forth that many of them would hear the Word of the Lord and be saved. Midway through the preaching, it was interrupted by Palestinian Protestors, but the Word carried forward with the message to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.

A group of us Brothers went to the Long Beach 2024 Grand Prix in partnership with Sports Fan Outreach International to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. While Brother Landon was preaching, a man named Damon Franklin approached and claimed that he and all people are made perfect. We challenged his belief by asking him according to what standard he was measuring his perfection; he tried demonstrating an action of jumping off the curb as a perfect deed. We told him that God's standard for mankind is to be without sin and that he was deceived by Satan into thinking he was good enough to stand before a Holy God. We urged him to repent and look to Christ alone. We brought the message, and it is our prayer that all of those we had the opportunity to share with that day and those who heard the preaching of the Word of God would be found by God Himself, causing them to be born again. There were many great conversations, and much literature was passed out. The cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses was present on nearly every corner, spanning about 5 blocks in both directions from the event. We thankfully were able to share with one of them and show them the deity of Christ found in Revelation 1:17-18, "When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades." Then, cross-referencing Isaiah 44:6- 8, “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.”

Spiritualist Learns That Jesus Christ Is The Only Way
Brothers Landon and Corbin went to the 2024 Final Four games at the Crypto Arena in Downtown Los Angeles to share the Gospel with the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks fans. They met a man named Rustam from Russia, who was visiting Los Angeles and was drawn in by receiving a Gospel Tract. There was a bit of a language barrier, but the conversation carried forward with our evangelism survey. Rustam was Agnostic with a Spiritualist view of New Age Mysticism. He believed that to reach Heaven, one needed to be covered in white, positive light rather than dark blackness, and thought that punishment awaited those who didn't meet this standard. When asked if he believed he was a good person, he confidently said yes and showed records of his donations to the Red Cross and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, believing that these actions would ensure his well-being on Judgment Day. This led to a discussion about the white robes of perfection in Christ, which sinful man needs for our sins to be forgiven. After explaining the Gospel to Rustam, he seemed to understand why Jesus died on the cross. However, he was reluctant to repent and turn to Christ when asked if he was ready to get right with God. He declined to receive a Bible, stating that he had the Bible in his heart. It's clear that simply believing in the facts of the Gospel will not save you; you must be born again. Let's pray for Rustam, asking God to grant him repentance, bestow upon him true saving faith, transform him into a new creation, and embrace him as a child of God in His kingdom by the work of the Holy Spirit.

They Tried To Stop The Gospel But The Word Went Forth
Brother Jason Osborne preached at the University of North Texas on March 25, 2024, about the Law of God and how everyone has broken every aspect of His Law throughout their lives. The Law is not something we can perfect, but it is a tool that leads us to Christ, the One who has perfected what we have all failed. After hearing the bad news, A few students asked for a solution and a softer, seeker-sensitive message that would be more sugar-coated than the Truth, so it would be more palatable for the students walking by claiming a judgmental statement that he was not preaching love. Brother Jason holds strong to the standard of Truth and the example of Christ in how we should preach. He continued to proclaim the good news of Christ, what Christ came to do, and the work He finished at the cross of Calvary. He was met with an Atheist heckler to try and stop the preaching of the Gospel going forth, but was not successful in stopping the cry for souls to know the Savior. For those who do not know Christ, we hope that you will cry out to God today and seek His forgiveness before it's too late.
