5 Yoga Poses to Calm Your Mind
As the leaves fall, let us release what no longer serves us.
These 5 gentle yoga poses are designed to help calm your mind, soften your breath, and reconnect you with the stillness within.
Swipe through the carousel and explore each one – perfect for the change of seasons. 🍂
But why stop here?
This fall, I’m inviting you to a deeper practice. Somatics & Reiki for Autumn 🌾 — two magical moments to ground, breathe, and embrace the shifting energies of the season. We gather on Tuesdays at 5:15 PM or 6:30 PM (a peaceful close to your evening).
🪽, Jessica
Ps. RSVP in bio to join me for this journey inward. Your body, mind, and spirit will thank you.
”
Welcome to Sunday, a gentle pause before the week ahead.
Did you know that over 85% of people who practice yoga experience a significant reduction in anxiety? As we unwind today, let’s embrace this truth.
Imagine flowing through gentle movements, each breath a whisper of calm, releasing the weight of the week. 🌿
When we couple yoga with meditation, we create a sacred space to elevate our body, mind, and spirit. This beautiful trio invites clarity, serenity, and a sense of grounding—just what we need as we prepare for Monday.
So today, take a moment. Stretch, breathe, and listen to what your body craves. As we nurture ourselves, we invite peace to carry us into the new week.
✨ Let’s embrace this Sunday as a time to reset and restore, so we can greet tomorrow with open hearts.
There is something about the flow of movement, the rhythm of breath, and the grounding of stillness that helps us find our center—no matter how busy life gets.”
Soon, I’ll be sharing something special that combines these elements: mindful movement, calming energy practices, and space to exhale. 🌿
✨ If you’re ready for a sneak peek, I’m sending out a guided walking meditation in my newsletter this Friday—just for you. It’s my gift to help you carve out a little moment of peace amidst the noise.
Sign up via the link in my bio, and get ready to exhale.
After weeks of letting the music move me, I’m ready to come back to where breath meets stillness, and where energy flows from within. This is the space where we let go. Where we feel deeply. Where we find balance in the beautiful tension of life. 🕊️✨
Tonight, we gather.
5:00 PM Somatic Movement + Breathwork

I just pressed send on your Inbox Exhale—updates on being and being almost half a century old. I don't feel forever 21, but I do feel forever 30-ish in my heart. If you've been with SYP and me since 2009, maybe my love note will resonate with you, too.
Want to talk about life, love, and all the parts in between? Let's meet at Le Sol House for Somatic Movement & Breath on Tuesdays at 6:30 in the evening. It’s never the same without you.
Love, Jessica

A big piece of me died.
A piece of me died when I closed Super Yoga Palace in March of 2020. I knew deep down that a season of my life that had looked one way since 2009 had ended, and although I wasn’t sure just how, I believed SYP would reincarnate somewhere some way. I always said the Palace was less a place and more a spirit. Super Yoga Palace has found its haven in Le Sol four years later. Tonight, I teach my first class in a place that feels like home to me because it is.

Sometimes a song finds a home in your head after many years of drifting in the ether.
Chicago by Sufjan Stevens is this song for me, especially this verse.
You came to take us
All things go, all things go
To recreate us
All things grow; all things grow
We had our mindset
All things know, all things know
You had to find it
All things go, all things go
Chicago, Sufjan Stevens
This weekend is bittersweet.
Yoga School comes to a close, graduating brand new SYP instructors ready to spread their love and light through yoga with the rest of the world. We've spent many hours together over the last 8 months, and now it's time for them to spread their wings.
In addition, it's time for SYP to pause.
Beginning the week of May 7th, Super Yoga Palace will be taking a Summer Sabbatical. During this time, all classes, events, and activities at SYP will be suspended until further notice. This sabbatical is an opportunity for me to reflect and reconnect to a deep source of rest and renewal, and inspiration for the next evolution.
We’ve have had such an amazing journey together, and I am truly grateful for your presence in our community. I encourage you to take this time to explore your practice and give yourself the permission needed to nourish your body, mind, spirit, and soul during this special season.
Please celebrate what we've shared with one last class at 9 AM Saturday.
If you'd like to practice with me in another location I'll teach my 60-minute Gentle Yoga & Reiki class at YAM on Fridays and noon and Saturdays at 11.
With love & light always,
Jessica
Can I be honest with you? I'm overwhelmed by the amount of AI in my face every day. I want to rebel hard for the first time in my life.
And by rebel, I mean walking to the library, borrowing and reading more books, writing letters in cursive, growing my food and cooking from scratch, reading music, and playing the piano proficiently ( PS. I want a keyboard for my birthday, so if you see Josh this is a hint) reading more poetry, gathering people in my home for dinner, firing up the fire pit after and discussing art, music, culture over cocktails, attending more liturgical services, taking pictures with film, taking more in-person yoga classes.
I'm craving the physical, tangible, and real. What about you?
I suppose if this is rebellion, it's in the best way. Are you craving the tangible, the experienced, and the human too?
If so, getting out of your head, off your device, and into your body for 60 minutes can be the energetic reset you need to make a shift, a small choice that changes everything for your day, your weekend, and with repetition, your life.
If you're feeling similarly, consider taking a class with me. See my in-person offerings for this weekend.
I hope to see you on the mat!
For the future you, I'm currently working on rebuilding SYP TV with live and on-demand interactive opportunities that you can access from anywhere to connect more regularly and foster our community and humanity.

3 reasons to start an Ashtanga practice
1. Cultivate discipline: Ashtanga is a traditional and structured style of yoga that requires you to commit to a consistent practice. This discipline on the mat can translate to other areas of your life, such as work and relationships, allowing you to develop a more focused and intentional approach to your daily routines.
2. Build strength and flexibility: Ashtanga sequences are designed to challenge both your physical and mental endurance. By moving through the postures with controlled breath and concentration, you'll build strength in your muscles and increase your flexibility over time. This can have a positive impact on your overall body awareness and physical health.
3. Develop a meditative practice: Ashtanga yoga can be a transformative and meditative experience. By focusing your attention on your breath and movement, you can quiet your mind, reduce stress, and improve your mental clarity. With consistent practice, you may find that you're able to access a deeper level of inner peace and stillness both on and off the mat.
So if you're looking to challenge yourself both physically and mentally, build discipline, and cultivate a deeper sense of inner peace, starting an Ashtanga yoga practice may be just what you need. Namaste!

Dearest,
This quote struck my heart, and I thought of you, me---us.
"So silence brings not only little deaths but also little births -- small awakenings to beauty, to vitality, to hope, to life."
As I circle the block this morning, my thoughts are of Winter giving way to Spring. The cycle of life and death is woven into the tapestry of every day and every breath, reminding us of our mortality and gently nudging our intentionality.
I'm listening to Faith Hope & Carnage, an interview with Nick Cave and Sean O'Hagan---in awe of the incarnations of this artist, inspiring me to continue my own quest. If you're into continuum or ready to reconnect body, mind, and spirit, I suggest taking a long nature walk this weekend and listening to the Ghosteen album on repeat.
Winter to Spring, from death to life, is the theme of our flows this week.

Dearest,
I’ve been feeling stuck. What about you?
I've been stuck enough times to know the other side is unstuck, so I'm ok being stuck in the muck. If you're there, I totally understand, and it will pass.
This week I watched the documentary Hallejulah, Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song, if you swipe left you'll see one thing he said in 1993 that reaffirmed so much in me, and I hope it pings for you too.
I have a new flow for us this Saturday, one inspired by Leonard Cohen's poetry, Jeff Buckley's interpretation of Hallelujah, and the Spanish Dancer that blessed my Instagram feed this morning; creativity and fluidity are why I love yoga the most.
