INDIA: A country where many people live in poverty, where social distancing is barely possible, where hospitals are overwhelmed by the number of covid cases and where many have no job and thus are not having money to buy food, OneMaker in partnership with FIFC is giving out food for families. Helping in small ways but making a difference for many. Check out our website www.onemaker.com
For the 4th time, the Indian government has extended their shelter in place for two more weeks. The fight against hunger that the virus has placed continues. OneMaker continues to partner with a local organization by giving out groceries to more than 700 families in very vulnerable areas.
Please check out what is happening in India, it is very heart breaking. The girls that are sponsored by OneMaker are still safe so far.

Huge crowds as lockdown sparks mass migration Hundreds of thousands have left cities as India went into lockdown to stop coronavirus outbreak.
Please keep these children in your prayers:
NEW DELHI, India — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday mandated a complete nationwide lockdown, including all apparel and other factories, for 21 days from Tuesday midnight to help stem the outbreak of the coronavirus. Many parts of the country, including Delhi, had already been barred from holding public gatherings amid orders to close workplaces till March 31
OneMaker gives Indian children in poverty hope for a brighter future by providing them with a quality education in English. Some of their mothers are widows or have been abandoned by their husbands. Others have disabled or alcoholic husbands and struggle to provide for their children. By investing in these girls’ education, we give them a better chance at a good job or going on to university on graduation.
This past weekend, OneMaker had the privilege to be part of Oktoberfest in Cedarburg, WI. We were able to display and sell handcrafted jewelry. Despite a rainy Saturday, many showed interest and appreciation for the work OneMaker is doing and even had opportunities to talk about sponsorship. We even made enough money to send one child to English School for a whole year!
I gave a presentation about OneMaker at our church - Brookfield Christian Reformed Church last Sunday. It was encouraging to see how many people were interested to hear about our ministry helping poor girls in India thru English Education. We also sold some of our OneMaker jewelry!
This is what OneMaker is all about: helping children in India succeed and have a English Education. Read the heart warming stories on the Newsletter below.

Lylie told me, “I want to go to school everyday, even on weekends.” Her eight-year-old sister enthusiastically agreed.
“If I miss a word, someone tells me the correct one. No one laughs,” Lylie said of her reading-group experience.
The girls have the option to learn karate and even violin. Lylie will travel to Washington D.C. this spring on a school trip. These are opportunities they would not have outside of Sundrops Montessori. The school has generously provided half of the three girls' tuition. OneMaker is working to raise the other half.
