🎉 🎉We are thrilled to officially welcome Dr. Wen Lai as the newest staff physician at Christ’s Family Clinic! Dr. Lai brings over 20 years of experience in women’s health and internal medicine, having held key leadership roles throughout her impressive career. She started as Lead Physician in Women’s Health at the Nashville VA Medical Center, where she improved care for female veterans🇺🇸. Dr. Lai then served as Medical Director of Hospital Medicine at Las Colinas Medical Center, and later as Medical Director at Parkland Center for Internal Medicine. Most recently, she led the Las Colinas Internal Medicine Clinic at UT Southwestern before retiring in 2023.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Lai is married with three daughters. She is an avid triathlete and marathon runner and enjoys knitting and crocheting in her spare time. 🏃‍♀️🧶

We are thrilled to welcome Rick Lafitte to the Board of Directors at Christ’s Family Clinic! As Senior Vice President at Susser Bank, Rick brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our team.

Rick holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. His extensive banking career includes key roles at Cornerstone Bank, LegacyTexas Bank, Northern Trust, Bank of Texas, and Tolleson Private Bank.

Rick is also actively involved in the community, contributing to organizations like Easter Seals of Greater Dallas and the Clayton Dabney Foundation for Kids With Cancer.

Rick is married to April Lafitte and has three children and three grandchildren. We’re excited to have him on board!

Laura is a self-taught artist, who grew up in Austin, where her love for art began as a child and continued to flourish throughout her life. After graduating college, she was a Gallery Director in Dallas for 6 years before deciding to stay at home with their two young children and growing their family, by two more, with identical twins.

God’s creation in this beautiful world and the colors all around us are the inspiration for her works. Laura paints in her home studio, in Dallas, Texas, and is always wishing for more space to house the many canvases she works on for commissions and collections being created.

Being a mom and wife is her greatest joy, but having a creative outlet through painting truly gives fulfillment. Laura is passionate about giving back to the Ronald McDonald House and Children’s Hospital Dallas who helped their son Hayes immensely when he was very ill his first year of life.

My fulfillment as an artist is complete if I feel that my sculpture stirs or awakens personal emotion in the hearts of its viewers. As I sculpt, I listen to an enduring memory of my own experiences. Each sculpture begins as dramatic light and shadows over form. Unique details then deliver a responding body that listens as a live face does. Upon signing my works in clay, it is difficult to resist the thrill of creation...I have a strong sense that nothing is finalized; it continues to develop and grow, as do our children. I feel the spirit of life itself is emanating from the sculpture. Because of the passion that inspires my sculpting, I hope to transmit a complexity of emotions to those who contemplate my work.”

Exalting the human spirit through expressive faces and natural body movement has become the recognized trademark of Angela Mia’s figurative bronze sculpture. Her work’s greatest inspiration is the ever-changing individuality of her children. Angela graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and completed post-graduate studies at the University of Madrid, Spain. She is an elected member of the National Sculpture Society, a Master Signature member of American Women Artists, and was named a Living Master by the internationally prestigious ARC (Art Renewal Center). Major awards include Best in Show and Best 3D Work by AWA and The Purchase Award by the ARC Museum. Her sculptures are installed in numerous universities, hospitals, public parks and city plazas throughout the USA and privately collected throughout North America, Europe, Australia, Dubai, India, China, and Japan. Angela cofounded FLITE (Friends Lifting Individuals To Empowerment) whose mission is to harness the power of artistic expression and use it to raise funds and empower enslaved or socially excluded people.

Her work surrounds ideas of gratitude, blessings, and the joy that comes from a focus on God’s gifts in our lives. Rachel is constantly in awe of nature and the colors that come from creation. She works to create balance and harmony in her landscapes through the use of color and composition.
