Leukemia Texas is an independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to fighting the life threatening blood cancer of leukemia through the funding of leukemia research and patient aid in Texas. It is the only organization of its kind that generates revenue in Texas, and stays in Texas! “My daughter, Victoria, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia this past October. She is 7 years old and has had 10 hospital admissions, several lumbar punctures, and multiple ER visits. Victoria has gone through a lot and she is our little warrior. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our family! This will relieve some of the financial burden we are facing.”

“We do not have enough words to thank you for considering our family for financial assistance. We have been in and out of the hospital, and news that is not bad—is exciting. Thank you for the resource and for brightening our day! —Carley, sister to Patient Aid recipient, David
Carley was a leukemia social worker for two years but recently put a stop to her career as her brother David was diagnosed with leukemia. He is 23 years old and being treated for a rare subtype of leukemia
Carley reached out to us at Leukemia Texas, on behalf of David, to ask for financial assistance. Carley was also David’s bone marrow donor. She is truly a wonderful sister and human being in this world! Their family was also impacted by hurricane Beryl and this grant will ease their stress. Take a moment to offer Carley and David some encouragement as they walk the road to recovery together! 🧡🎗️

“The funding from Leukemia Texas means everything to our family throughout this extremely difficult time. It is a true blessing that we hold dearly to our hearts and we are extremely grateful!” —Ramon and Kisa
Kisa reached out to us at Leukemia Texas on behalf of her husband, Ramon, who has made it through a very difficult time with his current treatments for leukemia. The physical, emotional, and financial strain affects the entire family and a Patient Aid grant can help to ease the burden.
We are so grateful to Leslie Enlow and Carlo Pezzimenti for their beautiful music and contributions towards our Patient Aid program. They’ve given Ramon and family new hope and a moment to rest and heal.

“On April 19, 2023, just a few days before my son Jacob’s 6th birthday, he was diagnosed with T cell ALL. Hearing the nurse say ‘cancer’ broke me—because when you hear that word you automatically think the worst. But in the ambulance on the way to I looked up to the sky and in my head I said ‘God you’ve never failed me—please don’t fail me now.’ Jacob is now in his last cycle of this nasty disease and he is so ready to get back to his normal life. The hardest thing we currently face is financial stress. I had to quit my job to be here every single day with Jacob and my husband took over all bills. Money is tight and this Patient Aid grant is an absolute blessing! Thank you all so much! May God bless y’all abundantly.”
-–Nichole, mom of Jacob, June PA recipient
This Patient Aid grant was generously funded by Leslie Enlow and Carlo Pezzimenti. 🎶🎶

June is Cancer Survivorship Month and we want to continue spotlighting a few of our bravest (and cutest!) leukemia survivors. Sweet Lilah is 20 months post bone marrow transplant for AML. She’s a spunky, energetic, and often ornery little (twin!) girl who keeps her parents on their toes. She’s come so far and she’s today for her LAST procedure! We are all cheering her on here at Leukemia Texas! 🎉
Hope today is wonderful .withtwins and she gets the all clear! 🧡🎗️➡️➡️
Being diagnosed with leukemia at any age is a difficult road, and even when treatment ends, it’s not over. Leukemia survivors still have regular doctor appointments, scans, blood work, and must be diligent about watching for long term side effects of the treatment they received.
Join us in supporting these brave folks as they celebrate their survivorship while simultaneously carrying the weight of their futures. To donate to LTX or participate in our programs—visit the LinkTree in our bio or visit www.LeukemiaTexas.org
One of our favorite ‘LTX Buddies’ made some special deliveries for us yesterday! Elliott is a spunky, strong ray of light and she’s already giving back to her friends in the bone marrow transplant unit. Thanks, Elliott! 🌈🩷😇🙌🏼🧡🎗️

Wrapping up with some sweet pics from our friend Lilah! Lilah was diagnosed with AML very early in her life and she faced a hard road with many obstacles, including a transplant. Today, she is now doing well, enjoying life and causing double trouble with her twin brother!
Her mom .withtwins says “she’s basically grown up in the hospital setting and her nurses have been life giving!” Beyond medical care, nurses can be a child’s friend, a parent’s support, often the first smile of the day, and the bridge to survivorship as these kids grow up.
In short? No one can survive without nurses. And they somehow make even the hard moments safe, fun, and meaningful for their patients. Thank you to all who care for our Texas leukemia patients. We hope you feel seen and appreciated this week as always. You are AMAZING!
Our precious little friend Elliott loves her nurses and they are giving her the best care as she prepares for her 2nd stem cell transplant next week. This mighty girl has been through so much—more than she deserves—and yet she still finds a way to keep her arrow forward and do everything her parents and team ask of her. And always with that beautiful, hopeful smile.
Let’s give a FLOOD of encouraging comments, thoughts, prayers, and powerful love on this post so she knows she’s never alone and even strangers are cheering for her and believing in her healing. Please leave her a note in the comments!
We are ALL better because we know Elliott and her family—and on we are grateful for the wonderful care she is getting. 🏥🩺 💓
