Celebrating emancipation and unity today on Juneteenth, our Nexus team gathered together for a delicious lunch from Blue Flames BBQ & Catering. Juneteenth is the nation's oldest celebrated day marking the end of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, Juneteenth honors June 19th when Union soldiers, under Major General Gordon Granger, arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce the end of the Civil War and the freedom of enslaved individuals. Onwards, upwards, in unity we thrive! 🤝🏾📈
