What if someone asks you “why did Jesus have to die?”

Start from the beginning.

Even though the answer can seem so simple, sometimes it is still hard to articulate. In short, Jesus died so we didn’t have to. Yet there is still so much more to it.

answered this question and more on . Listen and send it to someone you know who has asked, “why did Jesus have to die?”

What a weekend.

“All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.”

Psalm 145: 10-13

Last weekend we gathered to be the hands and feet of Christ and to fulfill the Great Commission given to us as his disciples.

We served with , Kids for Christ, and and then went out to share with others the gospel that has changed all of our own lives, so that they might know the glorious splendor of his kingdom!

Are you ready to be equipped? Ready to share your faith, but not sure how to do it? Or maybe you just want to gain more experience?

Join us next Unashamed weekend on June 10-12!!

“Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.”

2 Timothy 1: 8-9

Today we went out into our city to share the power of the gospel that saved us and called us out of the darkness and into his light. (Ephesians 5:8)

Today we shared our testimonies with others and how God has changed our lives. Not because of anything we did, but ONLY because of his soverign purpose and his unimaginable and incomprehendible grace. (Acts 20:24)

Today we shared the story of our savior, Jesus Christ, who justfied us and restored us into a relationship with God for all of eternity. (Romans 5:1)

Today seeds were planted in our city.

Would you pray with us that those seeds take root?

We *officially* kicked off Unashamed Weekend last night!

We gathered, trained, and prayed over our community, the hearts that God has prepared before us, and for our own boldness to share the GOOD NEWS of the gospel and reflect 1 Peter 2:9

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

04/08/2022

Would you join us in prayer?

Pray that God would radically change hearts THIS WEEKEND.
Pray that he would use Unashamed to bring others to him.
Pray for an awakening.

“At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.”Colossians 4:3-4

Have you ever tried The Columbo Tactics?

Columbo Tactics are a great tool for us to use to steer the conversation and plant seeds.

Swipe through to learn what they are, and how we use them.

Ultimately, our goal is to give the other person something to think about and discuss it with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15)

Ready to give it a try? Join us at the next unashamed weekend on April 8-9!

Anyone else wishing it was Unashamed Weekend again?

“Finally, then, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:1

We are still so encouraged by those who stepped into the story that God invites every believer into. The story of redemption and capturing people’s heart with the gospel.

Through training, prayer, worship, serving the community, and sharing the GOOD NEWS we grew in our own faith, our love for God, and love for one another. (2 Thessalonians 1:3)

Lives were impacted, hearts were softened, eyes were opened, eternities were changed… All for the glory of God. THAT is why we do this and what we have been CALLED to do. (1 Peter 2:9)

We are the hands and feet of Jesus. We share his name and story with others and invite them into a relationship with him because it’s just TOO GOOD not share.

Are you ready for the next Unashamed Weekend?

DAY ONE | VISION AND PRAYER

We gathered at Watermark South Dallas and went through the vision for Unashamed Weekend and what we were to expect through out the weekend. We learned about the community, the church, and why we do this as the body of Christ.

We worshiped together, went through a guided prayer for the South Dallas community, and we prayed for the hearts that God was preparing before us for the next day. We also prayed that the Lord would equip and empower us to be bold in our faith.

DAY TWO | SERVICE AND EVANGELISM l

After an early morning devotional and prayer, we served the community of South Dallas with , ,and . After the service projects, we went out in groups went out to share the gospel the city of Dallas.

“So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8

As saints, we serve others as the hands and feet of Jesus, share our lives with others, and share the gospel out of an abudence of love for them and for Christ. Not for our own gain, but for the growth of and glory to the Kingdom of God. (Matthew 5:16, 1 Peter 4:10)

There is NO greater joy then when someone hears the gospel and accepts Christ as their savior, or wants to go deeper and learn more! There is NO greater joy than being able to witness God working through you and the people around you. That is the joy from the Lord, and HE rejoices over it WITH us. (Matthew 18:12-14)

Unashamed Training was 🔥
….

3 takeaways on helping others without hurting…

1. Check your motive.

We serve because we were created to serve by a God who loved and served us first.

Ask yourself, why are you serving others? Is your motive self-focused or others-focused?

2. Overwhelming opportunities.

We are surrounded by opportunities to serve others and meet people where they are at.

In the moment, we have 2 options:

1. Ignore it (1 John 3:16-3:18)
2. Engage it (Isaiah 58)

When we are given an opportunity to share the gospel, we also have two options - ignore the opportunity or recognize it and engage with that person.

3. Build meaningful relationships.

God works in the context of community and context of relationships. Build those relationships and be ambassadors of Christ.

02/05/2022

“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.”

Ephesians 6:14-15

••••
God has equipped us with the full armor of God to protect us and help us be triumphant in our spiritual battles while here on earth.

One way we can wage war against the enemy is by sharing the gospel, and we can live confidently because it gives us assurance and a firm foundation to stand on.

This readiness reminds us that we are to be eager to preach the good news and share the hope that we have in Christ in order to fulfill the Great Commision (Matthew 28:16-20).

Just like having a good pair of shoes can help us walk across rough terrain, having confidence and peace in Christ allows us to boldly proclaim His name, even through persecution.

Ultimately, the shoes of peace equip us to fight for Christ in the spiritual battles we will face and provide us the readiness given to us by the Holy Spirit to share the gospel with those who are lost.

You never know when an opportunity may arise to share the good news of the gospel with someone else.

Are you ready?

SAVE THIS & SHARE THE GOSPEL. 🔥

01/01/2022

A new year for some means making a new years resolution. Some can be good, but what’s one resolution we should all make this year and every year?

SHARING THE GOSPEL.

•••
Can you think of one or two people in your life that you have been wanting to share with or talk about your faith with, but didn't feel like you knew enough?

Or didn’t feel like it was the right time?

Or didn’t want to come off as judgmental?

Fight those fears and take a step of faith. They've been put on your heart and in your life for a reason.

1. If you understand the gospel, you know enough.

TBH you'll never feel like you know enough. Can you train on certain illustrations and useful tools? 100%. But ultimately, you have to trust God and rely on the the Holy Spirit to lead you and give you the words to speak.

2. It's good to be wise in reading the persons attitude towards you and the topic of faith, but you may never feel like it is the right time to share. Ask yourself, what is the worst thing that could happen if you shared? And guess what…whatever the worst thing is, it wouldn’t change Gods love for you.

3. If you don't know the answer to a question, be honest and tell them you will look into that or ask someone who would know and get back to them with an answer.

4. We should strive to be as kind as we can be, but even if it’s not your intention, there is ALWAYS a chance someone will feel like they’re being judged. Don’t let the fear of sharing the TRUTH with someone deter you from sharing at all.

Remember, It’s their ETERNITY at stake - not just their tomorrow.

Let’s make 2022 a year of focusing on others by planting seeds and spreading the GOOD news.

Ready church?

We’ll be posting more about joining the next Unashamed weekend, but for now mark February 11th - 12th on your calendars!

Photos from Unashamed's post 12/04/2021

We kicked this morning off being reminded of the goodness of the Lord and of HIS character.

We are reminded and encouraged that even in our mess and sin, God dwells WITH us and He WANTS to use us. 🤯

& because of this, we GET to share the GOOD news. The good news that God sent His one & only son to live a perfect life that we could never live, to die a death that we deserve to die, to be raised again three days later so that WE could have eternity with HIM.

Let’s share that hope in Christ today and everyday.

For more opportunities to join or serve, look out for details to come!

It’s learning what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus through serving, praying and caring for others.

It’s learning to use the story God has given you to tell of his glory and everything he’s changed in your life, and how he will do the same for anyone who believes in Him.

It’s experiencing what it means to be in fellowship with others who are also on mission to build Gods Kingdom.

FAQ: Why should I register for Unashamed?

Answer: Because boots on the ground training is the BEST way to strengthen your evangelism muscle. Sometimes Christians can get too comfortable and tend to lean toward apathy, or lacking urgency to tell others about the Gospel. This is a weekend that will equip you, disciple you, and encourage you to tell people about Jesus every day!

BONUS - it’s a blast 💥 and you will build friendships that will last a lifetime.

We are just 2 WEEKS away from Unashamed weekend! Do you have questions? DM us or comment below👇🏻

Photos from Unashamed's post 09/21/2021

Ever wonder why we are called Unashamed? Romans 1:16 is our motto.

When sharing the gospel, you may not have a lot of time to look up scripture, so having a few key verses memorized is a helpful tool!

Unashamed veterans: memorize this verse and challenge your friends to memorize it too! (And send them the registration link to the next Unashamed Weekend in October.)

We’ll post a new verse challenge every week, so keep up.😉
