I'm with our Leadership Texas Baptists group this afternoon at Buckner Children's Home in Dallas. The group is currently hearing about the great services of Buckner and soaking in the history and legacy of this wonderful place. They have also had discussions on 21st Century Issues and will talk in a bit about what it means to be an emotionally healthy leader. A lot packed into this rainy day, but as always we have a great group of leaders in Cohort 8 and they are a joy to be with!

Practicing Gratitude - here's your mental health reminder/tip for the day.
For every self-critical or judgemental thought, challenge yourself to then find 3 positive things about yourself or 3 positive characteristics about the person you have judgemental thoughts about. Counting the blessings and replacing negative thoughts with positive ones can be extremely helpful for good mental health.

10/24/2023

Yep - sometimes we are just mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically exhausted and that gives the enemy a chance to creep in.

When we are tired, our defenses are low, and attacks are bound to come at that time.

Nehemiah 4:10a NLT
"Then the people of Judah began to complain that the workers were becoming tired."

Deuteronomy 25:18 NLT
"Never forget how the Amalekites...attacked you when you were exhausted and weary, and they struck down those who began to lag behind."
