"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." - Colossians 3:17
This month we are spotlighting Pastor David Whitehead at Connections Church - Kapolei in Kapolei, Hawaii!
Q1: When and how did God call you to be a pastor?
▫The last thing I wanted to be was a pastor. But, five years out of college as I was advancing in the business world, God slowly and methodically convinced me over the next two years that He was calling me. He changed me from the inside out, to where I really wanted to be a Pastor for Him. Definitely a God-thing!
Q2: What is God showing you in your spiritual walk right now and how can that help your church?
▫That during these days we are living in, I need to get even more personal with each person in my congregation.
“Know well the condition of your flock, and pay attention to your herds, for wealth is not forever; not even a crown lasts for all time.” Proverbs 28:23 (HCSB)
I had always looked at this passage as being about managing my possessions well. God revealed that I need to consider this for the flock, the congregation, He’s called me to oversee.
Q3: How can people pray for your church?
▫Connections Church is seeing a great deal of life-change. People are getting saved and baptized. Individuals and families are being transformed. We are a church of new believers dealing with new-believer issues. The most impactful being stepping out in faith on giving tithes and offerings. There is a sweet spirit in the church. We need seasoned, Godly leaders to help in all areas of church life. Thank you for praying for Connections Church in Kapolei, Hawaii!

“Baptism always represents life, new life, transformation of life. A life that was going one direction but has turned around and is now going in a different direction. To the church it means ‘Hey, God is at work here in this place.’ It also means to the church, ‘Hey, God is using us and our church to reach out.’ So it means to us as a church, God is not through with us yet.” - Marcelo De Oliveira, lead pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waco, Texas

Our Story
We are a fellowship of transformational churches sacrificially giving ourselves to God’s redemptive purpose. Continually being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit into the likeness of Christ, we join together to transform our communities and the world. Engaging culture, we reach people where they are for an encounter with Jesus Christ.
We are on mission with God to continue Jesus’ ministry of teaching, sharing the good news and meeting human needs through our churches, institutions and organizations. Our ministries reflect the heart of Jesus.
We share a vision of the world’s peoples coming to know Jesus Christ and becoming transformed in his image. As a fellowship of diverse churches, we advance the Kingdom in ways individual churches cannot do alone and we celebrate our unity in the larger body of Christ’s church. As local churches we are called to be the presence of Christ in the world.
We accomplish our work through individuals with diverse backgrounds who love Jesus Christ and his church. Lives, families, communities and nations are transformed as ordinary Christians take extraordinary steps of faith in obedience to God.
