Think about this.
On Friday, June 2, 2023, Governor Polis announced that undocumented immigrants can now get Colorado IDs at All DMVs in the state. Previously this service was only available at three DMV in the state resulting in a three month waiting period.
In 2013, state lawmakers passed Senate Bill 251, allowing all Coloradans the opportunity to obtain a state ID or driver licenses.
It’s helped reduce insurance, automobile insurance rates for every Coloradan and cleared the way for 200,000 credentials to be issued to Coloradans who, because of failures in the federal government, do not have documentation,” Polis said.
The Latino Initiative thanks you former State Senator Jessie Uliberri who sponsored the original bill and has been advocating for its expansion.
