" The eye was placed so where one ray should fall so that it might testify to that particular ray" a quote from the essay "Self Reliance" by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Artist Denise Demby shared this essay with each of her children and have found it to be a great reminder to not hold back from ideas and things one has been called to do.
The lit wall piece titled "where one ray should fall" has part of this essay transferred to the steel and some dichroic glass as well. A metaphor and another layer of content available to your eyes! It's showing until August 11 !

Pairing glass and watercolor paintings is easy when you combine the work of and . Deborah is known for her masterful layered glass bowls that are unlike any we have ever seen. Judy paints in watercolor and mixed media on canvas. Her white lines intricately convey patterns of pollinator gardens, matching Deborah's glass textures. This match was one of the first things these two artists saw when they brought their work together.
Take a look at a few pairings of the work that is showing in 931 Gallery!
As the realms of art and architecture converge, decorative glass consistently shines in contemporary interiors. Whether a glass bowl is on a coffee table or a large dining table, the space is elevated. Time stops, and memories become more special.
Mixed media abstracts centered on pollinators infuse organic energy into any space, blending natural themes with vibrant creativity. The shapes, lines, and patterns become creative elements that can tie colors together, bring warmth and interest, and convey harmony in a space.
This is the last week of Bustin' Out 1 where the artwork is paired side by side. The next phase, opening on July 5 as Bustin' Out 2 will feature collaborative works, small tiles, and new glass and paintings as these two artist members continue their creative journey together.
The artists are always happy to take commissions to get just the right size for your space.
