We're excited to announce the 2025 Iowa Thriving Communities designation for communities that are going above and beyond to leverage innovative methods to attract housing opportunities for their workforce! The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) and Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) introduced the Iowa Thriving Communities designation last year to elevate best practices and leverage innovative methods to attract housing opportunities!

"Housing is fundamental to the economic mobility of Iowans and the vitality of our communities," said Iowa Finance Authority Director Debi Durham.
Today, The Iowa Finance Authority awarded nine Iowa communities $10.6 million in federal housing tax credits to support the construction and rehabilitation of a total of 404 affordable rental homes for Iowans. The awards were made to 10 rental housing projects located in Burlington, Charles City, Davenport, Des Moines, Jefferson, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, Spirit Lake, and Mount Pleasant.
