Good luck to all those starting a new school year. We know you will accomplish great things!
S.H.A.R.E. House would like to honor and thank Cadyn Banerian, a young high school Senior, who chose to refresh our playroom in hopes of giving S.H.A.R.E. House children an updated and fun atmosphere to play in while working through the trauma of domestic violence. Cadyn is working towards earning the Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouts. She has become a community leader in the truest sense. Her accomplishments reflect outstanding leadership and civic engagement. Her continued dedication, energy and generous resources has given many children a refuge. By coordinating a fundraiser through her school and the National Honor Society and with the help of private donors within the community, Cadyn not only helped raised awareness for domestic violence, but provided survivors and their children somewhere to come and deal with unresolved trauma through play. Playing allows children who have difficulty communicating their emotions to open up about feelings. Not only does the playroom allow for the children to make sense of themselves and the world in a fun, stimulating way, it helps them feel they have a home. Cadyn aspires to study environmental design where she will major in urban planning. She hopes to work to change the dynamic of communities through designs that integrate living, work and green space to give people somewhere to socialize and prevent isolation. Her love for people has been a driving force in her desire to make a difference in the community. Cadyn will be attending the University of Colorado Boulder in the fall and we know she will continue to touch the lives of those around her. Thanks again to Cadyn for her role in helping to create a brighter path for those who have experienced domestic violence
