Students from any major at DelVal now have the option of declaring a minor in pre-law through the interdisciplinary program. The pre-law minor was designed so that students may choose courses that fulfill both the requirements for the minor and for the core curriculum program. Additionally, all students in the minor must take a pre-law capstone course where the aforementioned skills and knowledge are practiced and assessed, and where students will have the opportunity to interact with experts in the legal system. To declare a pre-law minor, students must communicate with their academic advisors and the Interdisciplinary Studies Coordinator, Dr. Jessica McCall, [email protected].

Jillian Ulozas '26, a Turf Management major, fulfilled a childhood dream this summer when she worked as an intern on the grounds crew for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Ulozas, who is also a standout student-athlete with the DelVal softball team, was one of two college students who earned the internship and the only female working on the grounds crew during this year’s event. She was recognized in multiple television interviews including one live TV hit with ESPN reporter Julie Foudy. As cool as being recognized for your work and talking with a U.S. Olympic gold medalist on live television can be, Ulozas found the meaning of her role and the setting for her “summer office” to be even more special. In the spring of 2024, DelVal received a seven-figure gift from The Daniel Tanner Foundation to improve and update the lobby and both wings of the Joseph Krauskopf Memorial Library. The renovations allow the space to be a focal point of teaching, learning, and gathering for the campus and external communities. The Shapiro Wing is designed for group study and collaboration, while the Cooke Wing is reserved for silent individual study. The lobby area and Memorial Room have been refreshed with new furniture, lighting, and rugs. Students have access to computers, copiers, and printers. Former Trustee, Dr. Daniel Tanner ’46 was deeply committed to education, authoring 15 books on the subject, and serving on the faculties of Purdue, Northwestern, and Rutgers universities. Check out the improvements in the video below.
