We are celebrating PAVSA SANE Nurse Manager, Alisha Blazevic, for winning the 2024 Distinguished Fellow Award from the International Association of Forensic Nurses! It's National Nurses Week! In 2023, our team of S*xual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) spent 6,277 hours on-call, ready to respond when victim-survivors were ready for care. With unwavering dedication, they provide high-quality medical forensic examinations to support victim-survivors on their journey towards healing. Thank you, SANEs!

April 21-27 is National Volunteer Week! In 2023, 50 PAVSA volunteers collectively covered over 11,000 hours of on-call time for our helpline and hospital response. Our 24-hour services are possible because of their engagement and dependability. Thank you, volunteers!

THIS FRIDAY: After sexual assault happens, victim-survivors have the option to receive medical care and typically their most common questions is “Am I OK?” Join Holly Olson, RN, SANE-A and Alaine Ripley, RN, SANE-A as they discuss medical options following sexual assault, including the option to receive a medical forensic exam.

This webinar will include where to go, explanation of consent, elements of the medical forensic exam, and what providing patient-centered care looks like. Presenters Holly Olson and Alaine Ripley have been practicing as S*xual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) with the PAVSA SANE Program for 8 years.
