Our annual BBQ may have been a bit rainy this year but we still had a blast! This year, our participants got to enjoy some tasty food, try out archery, get family & match photos taken, make a spin-art project and so much more!

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to UnitedHealthcare for partnering with us and providing our community with dinner, take-home snacks, outdoor toys, and hard working volunteers to put everything together!

We also want to thank 1854 Treaty Authority for providing the opportunity to try archery (a huge hit!), Duluth Whole Foods Co-op for their donation of some tasty watermelon, and WLSSD for providing some fun, sustainable giveaways.

We can't wait to do it again next year!

08/15/2024

We want to extend a huge "thank you!" to Ursa Minor Brewing for choosing Mentor North as their July round-up recipient! With this round-up, we're able to continue growing our mentoring communities in Duluth and Superior. We're so grateful for their support, as well as the support of the Twin Ports community! Thank you!

Wondering what it takes to make a great mentor? It is not someone who has all the answers to all of life's biggest questions or someone with a ton of resources. A good mentor is someone that is willing to make time to support a young person in their journey!

If you're ready to start on the path of supporting a youth in the Twin Ports through one on one mentoring, contact our Mentor Engagement Coordinator Molly today at [email protected] or 218-606-2568 and she can get you started!

We often hear folks share with us different reasons they don't feel like they're "ready" to be a mentor, even if they're interested. Did you know at Mentor North, you'll have support through the entire process as well as into the match? Just as Marie Forleo says, there is so much success to be had even if you're not feeling "ready."

Would you consider tapping into the secret of success and saying yes to becoming a mentor today?! We'd love to share more with you and answer any questions you have. Feel free to reach out to our Mentor Engagement Coordinator, Molly, and she can answer your questions! Contact her at [email protected] or at 218-606-2568.

We all know that we do better in community compared to on our own, and mentoring is no different. Our mentors have the opportunity to connect with each other and share their experiences as well as learn from each other about how to handle a challenging situation.

If you're ready to get started on the process of becoming a mentor, knowing that you'll be in a community of support that can help you walk through challenges, we have youth that are ready for you! You can reach out to our Mentor Engagement Coordinator, Molly at [email protected] or call/text 218-606-2568 to learn more!

07/25/2024

Meet Darius! Darius is a 10 year old boy looking for a mentor who enjoys doing different activities like sports, riding bikes, playing games and being outdoors. He would really love someone that could teach him how to do some woodworking projects and teach him more about working on cars! A good mentor for Darius would be someone who is consistent, patient, and can help set healthy boundaries.

Do you feel like you and Darius have some shared hobbies that you could do together? Consider becoming his mentor! We ask our volunteer mentors to commit to 4 hours/month and stay on with their mentee for at least 1 year.

If you're ready to get started today, you can find our mentor application at MentorNorth.org or reach out to our Mentor Engagement Coordinator Molly at [email protected] or by calling/texting 218-606-2568.

07/24/2024

You just have to want to spend time with a really awesome kid!
