We are a 5,200 square-foot facility located in East Providence, between Providence and Barrington RI. Please take a moment and congratulate the newest member of our team here in the City of East Providence. Meet Melissa Mota our ‘Veterans Service Affairs and Community Health Coordinator’.

Mota is well-versed in Veterans Affairs as she is currently serving as a member of the Rhode Island National Guard and has also spent years serving as a Military Police Officer. Mota is continuing her push to climb the military ranks as she is currently attending Officer Candidate School, with the goal of commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Rhode Island Guard.

Mota has strong ties to the East Providence community. It is a city that she’s called home for 8 years, where she also works as a CrossFit Coach at CrossFit East Providence and is an active member of her church Bread of Life International Workship.

Mota has a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies and Political Science from Roger Williams University and is currently completing her masters in Creative Writing.

Mota will also provide the community with recovery support services for what she refers to as "life controlling issues," such as alcohol and drug use. Her extensive military background, coupled with her deep ties to the East Providence community, as well as her knowledge and personal experience in recovery support, places her in a unique position—where she will be able to understand and address the challenges faced by veterans and members of the East Providence community.

"I am passionate about this work, and dedicated to ensuring that our veterans receive the care they deserve—this is truly, the labor of love," Melissa Mota said.

It has been a week since two of our very own went down to Baton Rouge for the USA Masters Weightlifting National Championship. They both put in countless hours of hard work. It paid off in a big way, with both throwing all on the line and coming home with some hardware. Congratulations to both of you for placing silver, and we look forward to both of you heading to the World Championships this fall in Finland. Go get'em. We are pulling for you.
